Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

Thanks for the heads up Eric. We just got tickets for both nights. I was having trouble picking seats on the internet so I called the box office. They were very helpful and were able to get me pretty much what I wanted. This looks like it will be quite a cool show with a variety of very interesting musicians.

Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

would have loved to go to this but going on the Rock Legends cruise with Gary Hoey during that time. But hey 3 weeks after will be Blues Cruise II

Better late than never. Thanks for putting it here Eric. I saw it on Facebook an hour ago and still managed to get good seats.

Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

Oh I want to do this so bad.  Another body is needed, required!

Winter is no fun though, getting out to the Blues Alive at Sea was a big challenge.

Sure is. Acoustic shows too.

Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

Have fun folks. We pass on any gigs in the dead of Winter in a cold place or on boats.
Joe you need to play Tahiti. We are there if you do. Hey, maybe sitting watching the dvd in Rarotonga! Beats freezing or puking.

Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

Rick posted on facebook that there was an email for a package deal with this show. I never get any emails for stuff like this, only the newsletter. Makes it very frustrating. How can I get on the email list for upcoming shows and presale codes?

On the main site (http://jbonamassa.com) there is a "subscribe to newsletter" at the top.

If you think you should already be signed up, check to see if it was filed to a spam folder if you have one.

I've been signed up for years - haven't seen any email related to Carnegie Hall. We wouldn't be going anyway, but there are certainly a lot of things that seem like they could be handled better by the office/management.

It's weird. I get the newsletters every week, I just never get any of the emails pertaining to tour info, upcoming shows and presales. I feel like there are two different email lists that one needs to be on.

Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

I agree, I never would have known about these tickets if I hadn't accessed the forum (I don't always look at the forum...sorry!), I did get an email later on in the day, about two hours after the presale began.  Other bands put out an email regarding presales the day before the presale begins; that would be nice.

I did get my ticket though and am very excited!

Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

personal feeling here: think the street team is crashing and burning and coming to an end.

I get quite a few emails from the system (esp every time you have to give your email address to download a song or video)

first I saw about this was from the Bonamassa Live Twitter post.

We have to see if we can get J&R behind the Street Team thing again..

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

Re: Joe at Carnegie Hall

Email list I still haven't figured out. I have signed up through the Street Team on two separate accounts as well as given my email to Tribut and downloads. they must have me in the system 100 times. I get the regular emails on Fridays. I like Natasha didn't get an email on this till later in the day. The notice I think came here first then Street Team Facebook then email and Band Facebook later in the day. I saw the Street Team Facebook post in my notifications but didn't check the actual post till a few hours later and ran by the office to see what tickets were available and to see if it was posted here which it was. I took care of my own needs and wondered why it came out of the blue like it did without forewarning. Bottom line is if you check here and or Facebook you got notifications and the email Newsletter that finally came was pushing the package and gave you the pre sale code and link and from all indication there were good seats available the scalpers were held at bay. So I say it was a successful under the radar release.

I have been a proponent of morphing the Street Team in to something more current like a Fan Club. I think the old Street Team model is dead in that there are no traditional activities still viable. The Street Team served it's purpose. With social media everbody is a Street Teamer if you give them content and information to share. The days of hanging posters at the record store are over. The day of the record stores are over. You have fans that want to share Joe without any organization necessary. There seems to be a need to allow Meet and Greet access to Street Teamers but when you have other ways such as Box Set and Litho purchases then you still can gain access or through PBS promotions. The PBS exposure is the best thing to ever happen to Joe in the US and now the momentum is on the side of J&R. Those of us that have worked the Street Team have been rewarded by seeing the success happen before our very eyes.

How to transition is the question and I don't know what the answer is.

I 100% agree with Jim.  An actual paid fan club membership should get started and soon!
