Topic: Devon Allman

My wife and I saw Devon last night in Champaign, IL and we were floored.  We didn't know exactly what to expect but he and his band put on a fantastic show for what amounted to be unfortunately a pretty small audience.  The fact that there were not a lot of people there did not deter him or the band from putting on a blistering 2-hour show.  Despite it being a relatively small audience, it was a  very enthusiastic crowd...quality over quantity.  smile

They deserved a much larger audience.  I told him after the show that I would preach the Devon Allman gospel and spread the word that he and his band are a must see show.  We went in with no expectations but we walked out of the bar blown away.  We spoke to him briefly after the show and also had a conversation with his other guitarist (I forgot his name but he was really good as well) and they were both very cordial.

So just as I promised, if he happens to be coming to a town near you it is definitely worth your time to go and see him and his band.  The were really great and he now has two very enthusiastic fans after last night's show.

Looking forward to seeing him at The Nothwoods Blues Fest in Spooner WI in a couple of weeks.

Re: Devon Allman

That should be a great festival!!  Devon and Eric Gales alone is definitely worth the price of admission.

Here's a great bluesy instrumental called 'Midnight Lake Michigan' from his latest album.  He played this song last night and I had to pick my jaw off the floor by the end of it. It doesn't start until the 1:30ish mark but it's worth the wait.

Re: Devon Allman

I will have to request that one, I am the stage manager for the Fest so I will have time to talk to Devon before he goes on.
