Topic: Jake Fletcher - new face from Tyneside

Well, there's a new name for some of you; Jake Fletcher; a 16y old, skinny-jeaned songsmith from Tyneside. I'l grant you, his particular style & sound, owing more to the likes of Bob Dylan than Ed Sheeran may not be Blues as we know it, but why limit ourselves with labels.

This youngster opened for Trevor Sewell's gig on Friday night, armed with a handful of self-penned songs, a harmonica brace and an acoustic guitar and doggedly won over the filing venue, even tapping into a very strong Woody Guthrie cover.

Not sure which path this lad's going to follow, certainly there's a bit more Denton than Duluth in him, but signs are, he could be Newcastle's new Alan Hull. Keep an eye out for him.

PS - in profile, does Jake strongly resemble a young Keith Richards?

When life gives you lemons; don't make lemonade.
Give back the lemons.  Why were the lemons free?  What's wrong with the lemons?
Do Not trust the lemons...
