Topic: The Trews

Kept an eye on this outfit ever since Classic Rock mag introduced them to me some years ago.

They released a number of albums since forming in 2002, but CR released their new album - self titled with last months issue.

It is a great album. One of the best sets of songs I have heard in a while. It's commercial, and yet it isn't if you know what I mean. Just downright uplifting stuff.

Well worth a spin. If you got it for free and didn't hear it yet, get it on!

Re: The Trews

Fortunately I get to hear them a lot.  Lots of play time on my favourite station, Canadian content laws.  In this case that is a good thing.

Rise In The Wake... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrtB5opbkM4 not off the new album but worth a listen.

Re: The Trews

Rise in the Wake is on the album. It is the lead off track.

Actually thats one of the things that really works with this album. The track listing. The album flows really well. After 'Rise in the Wake', which is a nice rocker, comes 'Age of Miracles' which is a jangly hook laden song with totally catchy chorus and this is the way the whole album goes. Constantly changing in surprising ways. It is the best thing thing they've done I find.

Favourite track? 'Where there's Love'...............This one comes out out of nowhere.

As your 'Hold Me' clip shows they can rock hard too. 'New King' on the new release does the same. Short song but great riff.

Over 10 years into your career and to release such a great album does them great credit.

I love 'em!
