To me they sound like they're trying way too hard. I'm not a fan at all.

I'm in the nay-sayer boat as well. But I LOVE being proven wrong on bad/good music!

Re: California Breed Release

I think I have given the album enough spins to say I still think its top notch Rock.More primal than BCC.Apples and oranges.I don't know how much Andrew was involved in the songwriting.Or how much Jason wrote  either.
For me it's one of the best rock albums I have heard this year.It has some good energy.Just have to wait and see what happens with Jason.
I know there are some here who just don't care for Glenn. To each his own.

Re: California Breed Release

I agree Gary. I was a big fan of BCC and am an old headbanger at heart. The lyrics meant something and the tunes were good. I'd say it was all Glenn as far as the nexus of the songs go. Glenn's one of those deals that live to rock. I've got a poster from the secret gig signed by all the band and it's a treasure in the shrine.

Re: California Breed Release

Haven't heard the CB release but I have loved Glenn's One Last Soul and the song Afterglow a lot.

But at the same time I will say a little of Glenn's singing goes a long way!

Re: California Breed Release

Have split up cos they couldn't make it work. Must be financial.

Re: California Breed Release

All very odd

Glen Hughes writes these great songs for BCC and CB His solo stuff and band do not have the same appeal to many

He may not to work the small clubs these days

Still I still play the BCC and CB

I await his next project

Well the break up of another GH band
Too bad as when with Jason I was hoping for an even better follow up to the debut.
Would not surprise me if money was the issue.
I believe that's why Jason had to leave

I don't claim to know any of these dudes, but when your in that many bands that break up, you need to start looking in the mirror.

My 1 cent..... and I'm not even sure why I wasted my time writing this.

Well it's a good point hard to know all the details.I know there is a love  or hate em thing here with Glen usually.
It seems that Glen has been writing some good rock lately and I am sure he would like something to settle into.
I think that the exposure and experience may help Andrew Watt.
Who knows. Many times something better comes out of the ashes.Sometimes not.
