Hmmm this looks tasty!  Only 2 hours from here as well.

At least there's an open bar to help make up for the ticket price!  Be thirsty, my friend...

It would be worth the trip, if you don't mind the ticket price.  Stories about these guitars and the people that have owned them are always entertaining.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

Mmmmm, GOING!  Will meet up with Mike and Sherry (mditurno) from Cleveland.  (There are always multiple ways of justifying things like this, right?)

Thanks so much Lee for publicizing!

"This one-of-a-kind event will unveil some of the most sought-after vintage guitars in the world and feature a collector's story teller session with Joe Bonamassa... This one day only event was curated by some of the world's top vintage collectors including Ronny Proler, Perry Margouleff, Vic DaPra and Tom Wittrock."  !!

Hey, "free" drinks, food and tour of the museum....  What else do you want?   big_smile

Re: Headstock at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

It is a little easier for Sherry and I since we live in the area - this should be really cool on several different levels!  Maybe we'll see Joe make a bid or 2 on an awesome vintage axe (not that he does not already have a room full of them) :-)

I was joking with sally12333 earlier about how much of our "fun money" has gone to Mr. Bonamassa this year (Pittsburgh show earlier this month, Columbus and Youngstown later this year, and now this) ... it's all good!!

If a few people are interested we can try and do a pre / post gathering somewhere downtown too.

Rogue - are you and Mrs. Rogue interested maybe too?

Mike

You have not experienced what a truly emotion filled solo is until you have seen Joe play Sloe Gin in person.

Re: Headstock at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

This event was cancelled. Since no notification was ever made that I'm aware of, you should try to get your money back if you bought a ticket.

Re: Headstock at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

This was cancelled!?
It shows as Sold Out on the site. That's good to know because I was trying to get tickets today!
I'm very bummed I didn't find out about this sooner, and scratching my head as to how things like this get past me!

- Nic from Detroit... posting on JB's Forum since 6-2-2006
Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

I would not have known if a fellow Les Paul Forum member hadn't announced it on that board. No reason was given, and no notice was sent to those who'd bought tickets...

The Rock Hall people never told anyone it was cancelled (and I had already bought a ticket, booked a flight, etc.). I wasted lots of time and lost $.

Never again. I don't plan to EVER schedule a trip to the Hall as a result of this fiasco.

They finally put a notice on their website ( I can't post links here, but Google 'Headstock Vintage Rock and Roll Hall of Fame').

It took me ages to get a refund and I had to contact them repeatedly.

The people who run that place are not very user-friendly.

Re: Headstock at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Nic, yes this was definitely cancelled.  I was going to join Mike & Sherry (mditurno) but Mike saw on the R&R web site about the cancellation.  I called HOF to see if they would tell me why.  No success, but then they said it would be rescheduled.  A call a few days later they said was cancelled altogether, and I've been waiting for a refund on my credit card - again nothing so far.  Wombley, so sorry about your bad luck with this, and thanks for the warning about needing to bug them about getting your money back!  Sheesh.  Such a major disappointment.  Joe was slated to speak about vintage guitars.

Here's the email address of the person who I finally got a refund from: tmcgrane@rockhall.org
