Unfortunantly  BCC is long dead and burried, as is the BCC forum

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

Sure was a cracking version UNTIL Joe reworked it in 2013, IMO a better version again

Re: BCC Live Over Europe

That is a great live album and I much prefer listening to Faithless, Song of Yesterday, Cold and The Ballad of John Henry from this album than the studio versions.

Great way to chill out at the end of the day and while walking my dog.

Sure would have liked to have seen the band play live.

Re: BCC Live Over Europe

What I would give to hear some tracks from Afterglow live...

I'm broke, motherf**ker!

6 of us have replied in this thread.. so that's 6 of 17 right here.
Song of Yesterday still stands out for me... but TBoJH.. I'll give it a relisten tonight maybe.

yeah. not to rag on Joe too much but I was a bit peeved off when he said something like that at the Richmond show last Fall. I mean I was in such a great mood that it rolled right off, and i knew he was 'joking' but it is a sensitive subject for me as well. I bought close to 17 copies myself.... tongue and since it is a touchy topic here too i hesitated to even reply to this topic but i couldn;t stand to not show my support. That is the thing about the 17 copies joke....none of this was fault of the fans that i know of (beyond the typical apathy about the state of the radio and what a larger fan push might have been able to accomplish, and who can blame anyone for their apathy these days really) and that kind of felt weird. Maybe it was originally Derek's joke anyhow i dunno no biggie . as mentioned in other threads, Joe's stand up comedy routine (even when sitting down) is pretty good. Family usually is the easy subject...blahblah ok going way too deep into this
man do i dig the tunes and that musical side of Joe.

I agree with Song of Yesterday . studio but especially  on LOE. vid and disc.
if i had to pick one song of Joe's for all of the masses to hear it would prob be a toss up between this and Mountain Time from LFNIP

... then you MUST listen to the version of SOY from PinkPop Jane.

Re: BCC Live Over Europe

Not fair to complain about CD sales when there was no concert support for the product.  Anyway, the product was stellar.

glad you liked it whirlwind. i agree! and TrevR has mentioned some other must mentions! EPIC EPIC EPIC. its such a shame that somehow the 17 copies we all bought was not enough......that is a little kid based on Joe's strange stage joke about BCC tongue they may have flat lined but as long as we play the music it is not dead IMHO.
i do enjoy that version of TBOJH immensely although its a Joe song to me. I seem to get a little more than just musical pleasure out of it from the JBB band.  It has so much meaning and i was glad to hear Joe single it out as a song in an interview of recent timesi think of the song often.
this is political so i won't mention names but i once gave the TBOJH disc to a political hero of mine. I couldn't help but notice that his most recent book has a picture of what looks like John Henry's hammer on the cover. could be a coincidence or could be......? smile

i hope you play it loud enough for the neighbors whirlwind, can't use those headphones all the time

the song of our times!!!! and oh yeah it has a great riff or something according to some magazine or something big_smile

and oh yeah it was the first song of Joe's my son HAD to admit he enjoyed because he simply could not deny it

Yeah....just a killer version of John Henry.

Unfortunately I don't blast my neighbors with loud music anymore....I did just recently invest in a new pair of headphones.....pretty much for just listening to Joe  smile
