Very good report on his state of being in Classic Rock Issue 201, which was the July Issue I think. I am a couple of months behind reading them at the moment. But this conversation seemed to take place at the end of May beginning of June.
He was very moved by the campaign to fund his treatment and it will also allow him to stay on the sidelines fully funded throughout 2014 and the first part of next year. He has had a lot of issues following the transplant although these are not connected to the liver he got. It was a quite revealing conversation he had with CR.
It seems that his forearm muscles are so weak that it is going to take a helluva time to get back the strength to play again. He says that if he can't do it properly he won't try to do it 'half-assed', so there is a lot riding on his recovery.
Danny Bryant is using his band on the US dates to keep them working whilst Walter's son opens up for him. Interesting, the relationship they seem to have.
He is a fighter, thats for sure. Honest enough to admit that his lifestyle is what has brought him to this point. Hopefully this chance hasn't come too late.
