RNRU: There's talk of an upcoming live album as well being released shortly. What can you tell us about that, and when do you anticipate it being released?

JB: We're actually going to record it during the fall. We're going to record like three or four shows, selected shows from this tour. We'll give Kevin three to pick from of the same show, and try to make a live record. I want to record this band. This band is rockin'. Carmine Rojas and Rick are playing with me, Bogie Bowles on drums, and these guys are super players. We're all hitting our stride now, so we want to record it.  We're looking at releasing it around spring of next year, if not, summer.

Maybe it's already done...pending a little post-production work (North Sea Jazz Fest)???

I don't know this to be true, but that would be my guess.

That would make sense.  Or maybe Shepherds Bush in March 2007 as that was recorded too.

Re: Live CD/DVD

Yeah Joe only let's out in the http://rocknrolluniverse.com/rocknrolluniverse_479.htm interview they are going to record "it" in the fall.  That  means before Christmas and after the last USA show in Orlando December 12th ('it" being the anticipated mixing sessions, not the actual shows recorded live).  That seems almost too easy Stu to use the North Sea Jazz Fest.  Given that new fans are popping on here by the scores, if they do the leg work they can see & hear everything in advance, it may be a built in buying audience.  Only for discussion purposes, that also might also not make sense if fans are increasing and the loyal rabid legion here have made a significant impact on the ability to "push" or "sell" (I hate using those terms, because the music Joe Bonamassa is making is much more than a "product" or "merchandise" to me, but for Joe it's an actual business of buying other things, i.e. business expenses, and selling himself for profits exceeding those expenses) Joe's musical projects to the extent that they would be MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE an amateur Promotion & Marketing (Street-level) Team IF they (WE) had  NO PREVIEWS on any website, or any kind of EARLY RELEASE anywhere in the world, how fast would that "Live" project take off when released late spring-early summer next year???!!!  Read the interview and discern whether "Best of BBC" eliminates or elevates Sheperd's Bush previous & upcoming gigs from possibilities...Just thinking outloud randomly...

Re: Live CD/DVD

I think Paradiso if not already eliminated, and, as it appears to me, if Kevin Shirley isn't going to be involved "at site" for the actual recordings at shows, Paradiso is THE best candidate because of how great things do already look and do already (naturally) sound and the talent pool available to make things happen. Heaven knows the crowds, separate from the venue itself, are world-class.  But I am not Roy or Joe or Caveman or privy, so as I said, I'd treat every show as if it's going to be "Official Bootleg", because it'll be great whether official or on an unofficial bootleg if everyone is a great audience!!!

Since the Fam and I will be center stage, row 1 at the Cleveland HOB...You know where my hopes lie...The only problem I would foresee is that when we saw Joe there last year there was so much talking in the back of the room that it drove me nuts...Would that impact the recording?...I don't know...

Re: Live CD/DVD

Yeah, when you've got the CD of the event in your collection, it would make it better than you remembered it when you were one of the ones back there and couldn't hear the show.  Except the part after the fifth irked stare which was followed by a terse "Shhhhhhhh" that actually worked will A) Be only a memory not recorded B) Be a memory gleefully recorded for your sake, but others find highly distracting because it showed up becaue you were too loud "Shhhhh"ushing them, and the yakking did NOT show up on the CD because it wasn't loud enough! SO, being up front, you may hear somebody else "Shhhh'ushing the yakkers....but probably it won't impact anything on the recording

I've heard Joe shhhhushing the crowd a few times. You know it's bad when the artist is telling you to hold it down...even if it's during a quiet part.

Re: Live CD/DVD

I think he's resolved that he has to do it for those who are listening a little more intently to quell those who can listen (or not really) yet make excitable noises, which unfortunately he invites by being able to make quieter passages exciting even.....gee, isn't something akin to "classical music", where dynamic range changes are considered an exciting aspect of its performance??? Those crowds have to be Shhhhushed until the whole movement is over!  Not so with Joe's music, but if Street Team members can be a good example for the rest of the shows this fall.....maybe a "Shhhhush!" sign to hold up?! lol

Re: Live CD/DVD

OK so I'm not officially an official, unless it's rumor spreading (True or False, what's the difference in fun, read on what you got to lose?)
The rumors are officially that "I'm not recording anywhere, I'm recording Everywhere" so don't end up singing "It’s crossed my mind now and then, A little too late babe, go back and start again..." when there's a possibilty for you to actually BE THERE rather than could've, should've, would've been there to really whooop and holler and clap and sing ((yes sing, loudly and proudly-why not?) and cheer all at appropriate times and places within the songs and set and loudly & heartily chant "Joe, Joe, Joe" for an encore or two or umpteen (lotsa luck with that many however) for any and all shows until years end!!! You never know if an unseen RECORDING light may be on  right then and there and show up later on the live project release!!!!!!!

Re: Live CD/DVD

I know, I heard it clearly the very first time I listened to Rockpalast, but never knew it was you!!! It was perfectly placed right between songs. Good luck tonight, have fun (really wish I was there) and remember, inspire those around you tonight and you may inspire others who catch excitement for the very first time if you end up on recordings!

Rock On Andre &  All of you at Pardiso, inspire the band!
