Very cool!

Re: Brand new Rory Lithograph just released

The one thing I have to say is caveat emptor on the show tickets. I purchased two lithographs with the accompanying goodies.  The meet and greet was great (Cleveland last year) joe signed my gibson Flying V with his Seymour Duncan pickups installed.  But the show tickets were NOT even close, they were a few rows back of the second floor section.  When I emailed his people I received absolutely no response.  So in the future any decision of lithographs (I have two other ones for sale that members here have inquired but not responded to repeated emails after, hint, hint) for me will be made on whether I want the lithograph itself or not. I'll be at the Red Bank show next week but have zero expectations on the tickets.  We happen to be members of the Count Basie so I know I could have purchased tickets in the first few rows.

Re: Brand new Rory Lithograph just released

I have wanted a Joe Lithograph for some time now.  Several have been for sale on e-bay, but I never came up with one that got me to pull the trigger.  Came close on "My Red Guitar".  This was automatic for me.  I love art with a story behind it.  I was a fan of Rory's back in the 60's and '70's.  Then the fact that the guitar had not been played since his death, all blends in to a beautiful, emotional story. I remember reading that Jimi Hendrix was asked at the height of his career, by a reporter, "How does it feel to be the greatest guitar player in the world?'  Jimi replied, "I don't know, you will have to ask Rory Gallahger."

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

Damn, this is one super photo. Another great product Joe!

Re: Brand new Rory Lithograph just released

I know how you feel. I requested tickets using three of the Litho's that I have bought, before the show even went on sale and our seats were located in the last row, of the second level, almost midway from the stage. I was not happy.

Take care,
Bill

Sorry, that Rory story is urban myth.

In most cases, the story goes that Hendrix mentioned Phil Keaggy as the greatest guitarist.  That may have been true,  but again, that is a myth.   The supposed quote has also mentioned Billy Gibbons and for some strange reason EVH as well.

Exactly, While it usually is Rory, the amount of different players that quote is tributed to is crazy.

Then of course there is this video, which is probably the closest thing to the myth being true.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gwLQAuHJv8

I have read the Hendrix/Gallahger story several times in different publications, plus it's the one I like, haha, so that's the one I'll stick with and will tell when anyone comes in my house and asks about it.

Family Feud clapping, "Good answer!" lol Works for me, too.  Like lamentary school history lessons, the whole truth don't wholly matter, it's just putting some version forward to get some real truths space for revelation (perhaps "eventually")

That video link to the Dick Cavett show..., anyone seen and/or heard anything similar from someone else?! wink

Re: Brand new Rory Lithograph just released

I'm so surprised this isn't sold out yet! Usually they sell out within one day lol I think it's because when you go to Joe's store website it isn't displayed on the main page, but you have to go to collectables in order to see it. I give it two more days and they'll be gone!

I'm surprised too. I bought one on the first day, I was rushing because I thought they would sell out in minutes.

Is the autograph on the matting and not the litho itself?  It looks like on other litho's, Joe signed on the white border of the litho.

Typically only the artist/photographer will sign on the artwork itself.  I expect it would be signed on the matting.

I'd guess as time goes by many of those who have purchased them immediately have done so and perhaps wall space in their homes is now either limited or non existent.  I know I personally own four of them and frankly have no room for the ones I initially purchased. I've tried to sell them even at a loss but no takers.  I've got to say the manners of some of the people on this board astound me. I've received numerous requests for "how much", I've lowered even the price I paid to a lower as they have no goodies and the people haven't even graced me with a "can you do better". I'm astounded at some of the poor manners on this board

Re: Brand new Rory Lithograph just released

So you're mad someone asked for a price and didn't get back to you? Obviously they don't want it then. Big deal, move on. Seems to me it would be easier to just put a price in your advertisement and lower it from there the longer it sits.

I dont see how you can equate a lack of offers with bad manners. Some people are insulted by "can you do better?", I would not hold it against anyone for not asking for a lower price.

Re: Brand new Rory Lithograph just released

I dont think people mean to be rude about not making any more offers on the lithos, they're just not interested. I think the main attraction of the lithos are the m&g and tickets. The pictures are awesome but I could blow a picture up of Joe for less money. Sorry you've had bad experiences with the people on here bump...I don't think it's intended
