Topic: Meet & greets

Hi fellow Bonaholics! (my first post) ...bout me, I caught the tail end of a concert on television about 2 yrs ago then quickly asked for a c/d as a gift and was given John Henry. I listened over and over for a few months then starting buying the entire collection shortly thereafter. I literally can't stop listening ...and I love it.  I had not seen Joe live so I decided it was time and started to check out tour dates. I live in NY and the closest he was coming at the time I was looking (mid 2013) was to Ohio ...I also saw he was playing New Orleans, to which I had never been. I decided to go all out and book flight, room, and get tickets to Saenger Theater and make a trip of it. My wife and I had a blast and of course the show was EPIC! I am going to my second show Saturday in Syracuse essentially in my back yard and we have 8th row seats!! I also have meet & greet passes which leads me to my question ...I was told that the meet & greet is quite supervised and there are strict rules regarding photos and autographs. It was mentioned that a pic will be provided for Joe to sign and only one photo can be taken with him. Can anyone confirm if this is the case? Ironically the new Vintage Guitar mag just came out with Joe on the cover so how cool would it be to get that signed..
Hope to hear if anyone has insight

Re: Meet & greets

Welcome to the forum. The format now is that the tour manager or another of Joe's staff takes the picture with your camera so have it all set up beforehand. I believe you can present two items for signatures per person. Show up at the theater lobby at the appointed time to get your wristbands and wait for the meet. Have fun!

Re: Meet & greets

What Rick said but it's only one item per person now to sign. Joe's tour manager does take the picture of you with Joe with your camera so make sure you have it ready to go when you give it to him. There are usually quite a lot of people at the M&G's but Joe never makes you feel rushed when talking to him! You'll have a blast! smile

Re: Meet & greets

At the recent Des Moines meet and greet, we could have 3 items.

And yes, Joe does not make you feel rushed.  He is very, VERY friendly.  Just a nice man.

You have to be on a list to attend a M&G. You can obtain a M&G by one of 3 ways:

1.Purchase tickets and M&G through a PBS channel when they are airing one of Joe's shows

2. Purchase a lithograph of Joe. These come available about 3-4 times a year and 2 tickets and 2 M&G come with the price of the litho.

3. Do some street teaming for Joe in your area. You contact Eric DeTuscan at ericd@jr-adventures.com and obtain postcards to hand out all around your area when there is a show coming up, take photos of yourself doing this and you might possibly be granted a spot on the M&G list. Re: Meet & greets

I've also gotten stuff signed after the show by his tour bus. Not sure if he still does that, it's been a couple years since then. Maybe someone else has more recent experience.

JBLP (aged) 293, JBLP STD, JB ES-335, JBLP Studio, JBLP Goldtop Epi, JBLP Inverness Green Epi.

Re: Meet & greets

Just a quick update ..I was able to get that Vintage Guitar mag signed (I'm holding it in the pic) he also signed a few photos and signed my wife's "I'm with the band shirt". Awesome experience!! Tal also signed my wife's shirt after the show at the tour bus. We got to chat with Carmine outside before the show ..and we had a quick meeting with Tal & Lenny at the bus after the show. Incredible night and amazing concert!!
