Re: Live CD/DVD

Hallo Michael,

I hope Paradiso because Joe said in the interview he did in the Dutch magazine GITARIST  that Paradiso and the Fillmore West in San fransisco are the most magical places to play in.
I hope it's this Friday , so after the Rockpalast DVD it would be the second DVD I'm on!!

Re: Live CD/DVD

I watched a DVD of Walter Trout at Paradiso a couple of nights ago.  That is a beautiful place.

I think the live dvd will be filmed at a beautiful place and I think it will be a place that is sold out and I think Joe will sell out Paradiso so if I were a betting woman, I would bet on Paradiso. ( but I hope it is Hard Rock. Orlando. wink

Re: Live CD/DVD

Chicago and St Louis would be the bomb! House of Blues would be great and the Pageant would be absolutely spectacular!! Plus I have to admit I am going to be at both shows, so to be at a show where a live Joe CD and DVD is being recorded, it just doesn't get any better than that!!!

Re: Live CD/DVD

I gotta admit that would be a great time and place to do it IF Joe and / or management want to make this edition "Live from the USA", (before.... 2 months off, hmmm, wonder...hmmm...before going back to Europe...)! Can you tell me anything about ticket sales so far (please)?

Last time I checked, ticket sales were not so great.  I've contacted Melissa and she's supposed to be sending me posters.  We've already secured locations to put them up.  I don't know if Joe's ever played Orlando before.  Keep in mind, the show is still 2 months out and  I'm expecting sales to go up as the event gets closer but who knows?

Re: Live CD/DVD

I would think a Friday or Saturday crowd over a weekday crowd anywhere (almost), so some do not make initial sense to me.

Re: Live CD/DVD

Orlando has an awful lot going on all the time...I wouldn't sweat anything yet, picking something to do there is like picking from great dishes on a menu, it will turn out fine.

Re: Live CD/DVD

This has been on my mind since I heard it was in the works. I must admit that I have been secretly (until now) hoping that the HOB's Chicago would be the venue. I will be there early, saving a spot directly in front of the stage, and like every other fan on this forum, I'd like to be a part of Joe's history!
I think Rocket may be right, a weekend show makes sense. Hmmm....Friday night in Chicago???

Re: Live CD/DVD

Joe has said it will be several shows that songs will be taken from. So all might be right. And as far as a dvd, I haven't heard anything about a dvd, just a live cd.

Deezer,
I knew this was being discussed as a CD, although people were lobbying for a DVD version as well.
I forgot that this might be from multiple shows. I guess that makes sense: Pick the best live versions of the current setlist from a number of shows.

Re: Live CD/DVD

What's the point of having a talent like Kevin Shirley involved if it's not going to be available on DVD (don't answer, I am being rhetorical!)? Who else can bring Joe "outside" the box of "sonics" (Kevin's dialect for "audio") into the video medium some of us (including Caveman & Rocket, at least) more or less despise...IF it's not to be   Que Sara, sara...I would count it as a mistake or opportunity missed.  I don't think I've been listening as much as talking Sloe Gin up, so where did Joe actually mention it would be from several shows...it seems vague in my mind...and if that's the case and there's to be no video content whatsoever...........NO need to be guessing, you have moved into the realm of being able to assume YOUR show between now and Orlando's 12/4 are open to usage (Kevin did say near the end of the year).  That means watch the yelling /screeching (augh, ruin a recording you may) a tad too loud DURING, but FULL appreciation AFTER songs or great parts of songs could be those "that's me whooping" times nobody but you and the offsprings / family & friends (interested or not) will know about! lol Unless you take my advice and  from the moment Joe says "I said"..."Good Evening everybody"!!!---the second time....Let's hear it people!!! You like this guy or what???
