Re: Presale Codes

So excited! I got 2nd row for the Charleston WV show and 4th row for Greenville,SC.   Thanks for the info Jane. I finally got the presale codes about 9:20 this morning on my email but found where Eric from Street team had already posted.   I have smiled all day!  Thanks again!

Re: Presale Codes

Lots of new members popping up in the last few days. See, there's always an upside. I'll bet most of them were lurkers for years, as was I.

I know PBS gets a bunch of great seats, but they've done a lot in getting Joe known to the general public. I've met a bunch of people who were turned on to him via PBS and the RAH replays.

Re: Presale Codes

Phil is in Florida at a conference and has been networking for his firm as well as Joe. He ran into some Ohio clients and it turns out they love Joe. Needless to say, we are now going to Cincinnati and Columbus and at each we are bringing 2 clients and their wives. Hey, the firm keeps telling everyone they need to get out and spend time with their clients. What better way to spend time than at a Joe show smile A little tricky procuring 6 seats for each show, but finally ended up with 6th row in Cincinnati and 2nd row loge in Columbus. He was on the phone with me when it was all happening and there was a good deal of cursing and swearing because he had absolutely killer seats at one point, and when he went to put it all through, ticketmaster said they were no longer available and he had to start all over again. Wish there was a better system.

Re: Presale Codes

Wow, the pre-sale today was brutal.  Maybe the fact I was trying to do the deed from work made it more stressful but even so, it seemed like I had to enter the 14JOECOL code twice and then there were the little anti-spam verifiers that I'd have to enter every so often.   I forgot my wallet at home so I had to call my brother to use his CC.  Meanwhile, the very large room in which I work was as quiet as could be and I'm sure just about everybody heard every word I said while talking to him. :-)  My  brother was trying to buy tickets too and while he was entering the CC information, he got timed out!  Oh was he flapping!!!!

BUT STILL, we're going to see JOE!

Joe, if you're reading this, I'll see you in Pittsburgh and Columbus.  But I doubt you'll see me!  hehehehe.

Wow. I had the same experience. I had 2nd row seats one minute and after the system was done with the anti-spam/scalper crap, it told me I no longer had tickets. Had to start over and got booted back 7 rows. I have no professional anger management training, but I was able to keep from destroying my Mac anyway. smile The bright side is, I'll be there when others may not be so lucky.

I hate to say it and this is based purely on speculation on my part but somehow the fact we can't get good seats even if you camp out on your keyboard and hit at the minute is a result of the scalper trying to manipulate the system. They will always do whatever they can and use whatever method to get seats then turn around and rip us off.

That might be the case for some but twice I have gotten front row or near using only a smartphone at work. Today I got two front row right at Greenville,  South Carolina and got front row pit at The Fox in Atlanta before I threw them back and got first row, after the pit. It's all a crap shoot, both  times I was on at exactly 10:00 am and worked quick. Oh, forgot to add, I already had a ticket master account so I  did not have to enter the bot codes.

Anyone else get real nervous when buying tickets ?     I really don't like the experience of waiting for tickets to go on sale and being on-line at that time.   I just know something will go wrong.   My heart rate goes up and I get real nervous.   Don't really understand why, but it happens.

i totally understand,it's just the closing the deal not knowing if it all comes together

Got tickets to St. Louis within two minutes of presale.  Not close at all.  A ton of tickets must have gone to pbs there.  Kind of disappointed.

sorry to hear that. it is not an exact science and maybe they didn't all go to PBS.
for instance with Baltimore, i was on right at ten am, first choice they gave was balcony as best available. i didn't want that so tried again right away and selected orchestra section rather than best available. it told me a couple times there were NO seats available in orchestra.... then i got my box seats and was satisfied... friend emails me row e was available so i tried again could get row c, orchestra

there are alot of factors (discussed previously although i know i don't always make the best sense when i am trying to get something across) and its a crap shoot sometimes but i am still grateful for the presale

but i also know how it is to not have extra bucks to buy more than you can afford . those who can , can grab what looks like best then go try later for better

Same thing happened to me too for Balitmore. Don't care for ticket master at all. Ended up with row E  in the center- not bad

They must have a very small number of tickets for the general public and all the good seats are already gone. I tried to order just one ticket for the St. Louis show between 10:00 and 10:15 and all I could get was balcony seats. Surely there are not that many people ordering tickets within the first few minutes. Why are so many people privileged to get tickets earlier? I would just like it to be fair for everyone. They were already selling them on stubhub weeks ago for twice face value. Where did those tickets come from? Even before the pre sale. They should not have access to them if they are just going to turn around and make money off of them. And why are prices so out of control? How much can a concert be worth? This is not the World Series or Super Bowl, just a concert. Just a few years ago I could get a ticket for 35 dollars right down on the first few rows. There were no pre sales then. Joe has still never had a hit song! You never hear him on the radio. What has changed between now and then? I've seen Joe 15 times now and maybe for the last time the other night. So sad. This whole concert deal is really starting to turn me off. It used to be fun to go. Now I just feel guilty about breaking my bank and having to sit in the back. I don't like to complain but this has really gone too far.

Re: Presale Codes

I had a ticketmaster account, but I still had to enter the codes. I've also gotten 1-3rd rows in the past. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not. I sometimes wonder if someone at ticketmaster or the venue squirrels some away to sell on stubhub or one of those places. When the map came up showing what was available, nearly half on the floor were showing not available. Seems awfully high. Again, I'm happy with what I got, it just makes you wonder.

Re: Presale Codes

Was texting a friend yesterday morning about tickets in Ft. Meyers and Jacksonville.  A half hour later he fell of the roof at work and broke his leg and back.  I guess we should not complain about little things.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

Re: Presale Codes

If anyone is looking for a single seat for the Springfield, MA show I have an extra ticket (ticketmaster would not let me but just 1). It is Section Loge 7 Row A Seat 15...basically right against the balcony overlooking the stage. Don't want to take the risk of getting in trouble by scalping or selling on ebay.

Re: Presale Codes

Hi all, first post.  I have to say I am very impressed with what I have seen on this forum.  Everyone is supportive and respectful, and I'm sure Joe would be proud.  I got 3rd row for Columbus and 7th row for Baltimore for the fall tour.  The first offer for Columbus was in the Loge, as was the second offer.  I guess third times a charm, as that's when the 3rd row seats popped up.  Tried the same thing with the Baltimore show, but went from 5th to 7th row.  sad

Based on the Joe's website yesterday, it appeared the fall tour may follow a similar theme as the current tour, i.e. acoustic set, break, electric set.  I hope so, as it makes for a great concert.  In Indianapolis last week, Joe was onstage for 2 hours 28 minutes! So while some feel the tickets are a little pricey, Joe gives serious value for that cost.  Plus the intermission allows a critical bathroom break and beverage replenishment without having to miss a thing. smile

Re: Presale Codes

It's nothing like the old days for sure.  Technology is partly to blame (buying tickets online - and all of the "security" that goes with it).  But the biggest thing that's changed is Joe's popularity and thus his ability to book larger and often historic venues.  It's changed the concert experience for a lot of us "long timers".

But I have to admit I wouldn't have it any other way.  Joe has earned his larger audience through sweat, perseverance and hard work.  I couldn't be prouder of his accomplishments and still growing success.  I'll just pay my money, sit towards the back, and enjoy every single minute of it.  Nothing is going to ruin my association with JB and his music!

Re: Presale Codes

Last year, when Clapton came to the Chesapeake Arena in OKC ,  I bought my tickets the old fashioned way ... I went and stood in line at the box office when they went on sale.    They went on sale at 10 am, and I got there about 45 minutes early and was number 10 in line.    About 15 minutes before the sale started, there were maybe 50 people in line, and " the man " came out and gave everyone a ticket to get us numbered and placed in line.    He then he told the first five in line, to go to the back.

That left me at #5 in line and there were five box office windows opened.   So I was in front of a window when they went on sale and I got front row seats ,  center of the center section.

Those five who got sent to the back of the line were plenty angry , and maybe rightly so,  or maybe they were just buying tickets for scalpers,  who knows.     But I have to wonder if TM does not have a similar process for on-line purchasers ?   Could it be possible to be one of the first electronic buyers, but the software sends you to the back of the line ?
