Topic: RCFP live at the Iridium

I feel the need to go off on this video a bit....I know there are some other RCFP topics, but I want to address this BLU RAY....First I want to say how jealous of the Bonamassa fans that got to see these rare shows...What a treat !! This is just an hour and forty nine minutes of pure jamming....Now...if you're looking for Rockin' Blues...It has temporarily left the building...as the band title might explain...I'm sure most of you have the "We Want Groove", but for those who are unfamiliar...this is a Funk/Jazz hyride instrumental band with a heavy dose of great musicains doing very free form jazz/funk solos and major Joe riffage...not to mention..well...everyone else in the band....a total of 6 incredible musicians. Filmed at a small club, this DVD has a great close intimate feel..and did I mention Joe totally goes off several times??? The keyboards...superb..the percussion..incredible...the bassist and 2nd guitarist..also great musicians..This should be in every Joe fan's collection...Go out and buy this if you haven't already! I bought this and the Joe/Beth Live BLU RAY at the Boise show and just got around to slipping in the first of the two tonite...Tomorrow will be the Beth/Joe disc....can't wait....Joe's versatility is beyond just about any adjective I could use Superbonamassatasticallyjamalliciuosness would almost sum it up...

Re: RCFP live at the Iridium

Totally agree murfdog. Might not be for some who aren't into the funk, but for pure full throttle muscianship, nothing can touch this. Master instrumentalists in sync and letting it rip while having a ton o fun. The flow of the jams is something special.  Having been at a few of these, the songs are never the same from gig to gig, just constant evolution. Got to have this if you don't.

Re: RCFP live at the Iridium

Glad you posted this. RCFP is a great DVD - it's much better to watch to see the interplay of two guitars! The DVD really expands the experience of two guitars. It works.

But, there are only four reviews on Amazon!! Come on guys, if you like RCFP and after buying the DVD here go over there and write a review!
