Least favorite Joe Bonamassa songs? Now this is easy! The unwritten ones!!!
Rock ON & Keep the Favorites Feeding Faith,
Rocket
I don't necessarily have least favorites, just ones that I skip over to get to my most favorites. Usually I skip Blue and Evil( I know crazy) when listen to Beacon.
I will skip Sloe Gin to get to the other little songs on the album of the same name. But over all I find all of Joe's songs and I own them all very good
I know A LOT of you are fans of When She Dances but I'll never understand why that tune is plopped into the total awesomeness that is Had to Cry Today. Unless I'm in the shower when it comes on, it's off!

That's the first song that popped into my head...I won't say I dislike it, but it's not on any of my playlists.
We all have our favorites, Tennessee Plates, is probably the only one I skip every time.
Umm... no offense to all of you in here, but isn't this post just a tad inappropriate/in poor taste? Obviously everyone has their opinions, likes and dislikes which is all well and good - but I wouldn't go about posting dislikes on a forum on the specific artists webpage.
You know, if you don't have something nice to say...

I concur.

I apologize, I'm not trying to rank on Joe, he's incredible. It's hard to think of any songs of his that aren't very good, I personally like them all, it's just that I find that there are some that are worse than others and I was curious in everyone else's opinion on this subject. I see "favorites" all the time and that's fine I love to hear what everyone's favorite Joe songs are too but, I'd also like checking out the other end of the spectrum. No one ever talks about there least favorites, just thought I'd add a little diversity to the forums, that is all. If it were me, I'd like know what people though of my music good and bad. Critique is important.
I don't think a Least favorite thread is being rude as long as it's done tastefully.Lets face reality. It would be hard pressed to find a large collection of material from any artist that hits everyone's bullseye.I don't think it's a knock on an artist.Joe is one who likes to mix things a bit so it would be normal to have some songs that are not tops on ones list.
Given that I am going to have to go back and think of a least favorite. With all his albums there is not one that I really don't like enough to want to listen too.I do skip song sometimes based on mood more that anything.
Like some other mentions Tennessee Plates is bit to country for my tastes, but actually I don't skip through it on Dust Bowl.

You know I actually like that song. HTCT is an eclectic mix of songs and it seemed like it would be a Father Bride dance song. You mean that wasn't yours?
Just as Gary said, it's impossible to like the 100% material of your artist of preference, and there's no harm in saying which songs you just simply don't like, it's not an offense towards Joe, it's just a matter of saying, "I don't like this tune, but that's just my opinion" and there's nothing wrong about it!
And as someone else said, Joe likes to mix it up for every record, and while that's an amazing thing to do, it also means there's some folks who won't like every single thing.
Myself, tracks like Wandering Earth, Bird on a Wire and Lonely Town Lonely Street are probably my least favorites.
I agree that this thread can exist without being rude, now I will state my least favorite songs, bear in mind Joe is both my hero as a guitar player, and one of my all time favorite artists (I say one of because I can't pick just one, I have a handful). Now i have to be honest about my least favorite joe songs, his new songs Oh Beautiful and Love Ain't A Love Song that he has been playing live haven't really done anything for me, they aren't bad tunes, they just aren't my thing. I also don't really like the song Somewhere trouble don't go, once again, good tune and when I'm in the right mood i can enjoy it, but its just not my cup of tea.
And that is all i have to say about that.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really dislike the 2013 arrangement of Sloe Gin. This view is certainly influenced by the fact that the 2009 live RAH version of the same song is probably my favourite track of all time.
I'm sure no one meant any malice - but I think the "I'd want to know the good with the bad" is a somewhat romanticized idea. We like to think we'd all be totally objective and that its all valuable knowledge... but in reality, its tearing down artwork because it doesn't suit your taste.
It would be one thing to say "this mix could have been better" or "I thought this song didn't fit with the other songs on the album" - but to just say "I don't like this, I skip it" doesn't accomplish anything. When She Dances is a good example - actually one of my favorites. Very different than alot of his other stuff, which I'm sure Joe knows and therefore expected there would be a mixed reaction. But should he never record a song like that again because some of his fans just want heavier stuff? What about the fans that do like it? Forget the fans - what about what it means to him? Its his artwork.
I say this coming from a songwriter perspective. I know as a songwriter some people will like it, some people wont, there's nothing you can do about that. Recently I had one of my songs reviewed - 23 people wrote glowing praise. 2 people tore it down. Guess which words resonate more with me? Yet I'm not going to rewrite it or change what I'm doing because of those two. Served no purpose except to reaffirm that oh yeah - some people just don't like it. Oh well.
Its one thing to say "I'm open to criticism" - its another to pour your heart and soul into a song and then have people reject it. Like I said, if you don't have something nice to say...
My $.02 (clearly thats more than $.02 worth, but I haven't factored inflation).

Agree with you totally, Richard. Sloe Gin from RAH I is how I found Joe, so it will always be special to me. Now if I had never heard it I would think the current way that it is played was phenomenal. Talked to several people that saw Joe the last time he played in Clearwater, Fl and said it was the best concert they had ever seen, however they were waiting to hear Sloe Gin and were disappointed when it was played. Joe and Roy always say they listen to their fans, maybe we should start a petition, or not. Received my Beth and Joe in Amsterdam Blu-Ray yesterday going to sit down tonight and enjoy every minute.

I discovered Joe after his first solo album was out for about a year. The second time I saw him he played a couple from his yet to be released record SILT. I still wanted to see the ANDY set list but no big deal he did a couple from the new album. It was released later that year and I'm not sure if you know the album but it was a major reinventing of Joe's sound and image.
I hated it. I was pretty vocal on his old forum as were others. Before I knew him well enough to say it to his face. Turns out he hated it too. It was an attempt to go more mainstream rock. I think the feedback helped him decide he had taken a wrong turn although in his heart he knew. He even today refers to that record as the drink coaster. Now I later grew to love that album and it is one of my favorites it was just such a drastic change of direction for me to follow at that time along with many others who liked him just the way he was as a Blues Rocker. He released Blues Deluxe soon after and it was like So It's Like That Was over. Still there were three songs that stay with him today from it. Pain and Sorrow with an entire appreciation thread devoted to it. Mountain Time with his epic live version and the acoustic rendition that is similar to the album version and the title song that is one of his best original blues songs.
One of the good things he says about being so prolific as a recording artist if you put one out that some fans may not like you get another chance with them next year. He did that with me again with Black Rock which followed TBOJH which was a tough record to follow. There are some great songs on Black Rock and I love them performed live just didn't much care for the studio versions. That doesn't mean I'm not a super fan it just means I give my honest opinion. He likes honest opinions as long as they aren't personal and he values it more from someone or somebody he respects their opinion of. If this was a hateful thread I would be the first to nix it. He however can separate the wheat from the shaft, here he knows most of the players pretty well.

I am with you there the original version thankfully is captured on RAH 09 but I have gotten accustomed to the new version and it has really grown on me. Same with TBOJH live versions have constantly evolved till it morphed into a pretty darn good closer. I have learned to not doubt his life arrangements and just enjoy them. There can be so many new fans hearing the songs for the first time they don't know there is another arrangement out there. Again though he has each era captured on DVD for eternity. That is why when people long for the power trio I just say pop in the DVD of ANDY and you got it.
