My condolences scottson.  I know what you went through.  I lost my beloved Dad and Mother in Law in similar circumstances in 2009 - both within months of each other.

I really believe she heard your last words.  We were told the same thing by hospice nurses - the the hearing is one of the last things to go when someone is slowly departing.

In my dad's case, while he was lying there and couldn't communicate, I know that when my sisters and I were there for his last night with us and we were telling him how much we loved him, we saw his right eyebrow twitch and rise every time we said something poignant.

My mother in law was similar - in her last days, every time I would come in to see here lying there, I would yell my favourite greeting to her: "Hey Glenda, it's your FOURTH favourite son in law come to say HI"... (I am one of THREE son in laws she has!).  Every time I said that, she would give a little convulsion - the nurses said it was the only reflex movement she gave in those last days.  To me, it was the same as her usual cheeky grin and admonishment she used to give me for saying that.

So, I am sure your mom heard you loud and clear, and she will be glad to hear you asking around for her again one day...

Hi Scott
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My wife died of colon cancer in 2010 after a two year battle. All I can say is music is a very powerful force. It can move mountains, it can lift the spirit and it can save your soul. After my wife passed many things have happened that are more then just coincidence it is as if she is looking over me from heaven which I do believe is so. She is my angel as is your mother is yours. So have faith that she heard every word you said and she will surely be with you that night when you see Joe. She will be looking down with a big smile. It will be difficult the pain that you feel in your heart will never go away but time will smooth out the sharp edges. Hold onto the fact that you and your mother will have that connection with music, the music of Joe Bonamassa who I can tell you for a fact is the real deal. He cares and I know he read this and is feeling for you and humbled by the effect his music has had for you and your mom. Be strong my friend be strong.
sincerely Ron

She heard you. No doubt. My prayers are with you. I almost lost my mom 3 years ago and it was the scariest thing I've ever gone through. Blessings on you and your family.

So sorry for your loss. I had tears rolling down my cheek and I can tell you, I'm not a crier. That is actually my favourite song by joe and I listened to it heavily last year when my grandmother passed away. I hope with time your pain will heal..sorry again for your loss
