Topic: Just Putting This Out There...

I really would like to see more output from RCFP. I know they just put out Takes New York, and I'm not complaining that I need more material now, I am just saying that I really hope this is a project that continues, I really hope to see a few more studio albums and maybe even another live album. And also it'd be great if they actually toured, i know Joe is busy touring with his solo band, so I understand if that wouldn't work, but it would just be cool if RCFP played more that like 12 shows a year.

No real money in it the way I see it. Would you rather sell out a 100 seat jazz club or 5000 in a big hall? They do this for fun as a side project and I'll take it at that. More than 12 shows? Lucky if it is 6!

I believe there will definitely be another album released. Who knows when with their busy schedule. Which also makes it very difficult to do any touring. However if you watch the most recent interview episode,  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6DxvyLZsu8 Joe says something about maybe doing a show either in the UK, Paris or Tokyo(?). Only very small clubs that don't hold more than 200 because it is best suited to this type of music. So you never know what the future will bring.

Yes, Rocket has nailed it. What was once the little secret of the few SoCal locals and some hard core devotees with time and funds to travel became a juggernaut residency attended from far and wide with even some Europeans spotted in the crowd last month. They could sell out a week with no problem. I live in Funkytown hope and indeed Keep the Faith! big_smile

I would love to have a high quality DVD of them doing classic funk covers. Some of these are on you tube now, but they are early jams I would like to have the songs redone now with the band playing tight.
