Re: Red Rocks this year

While we are wishing I'll put this out there. I watched the PBS presentation on one of the two PBS stations it is airing on here last night. There was some taped interview footage. He was in Atlanta at the time. He mentioned that Red Rocks would be filmed. Which validated my suspicion. TTB is at Red Rocks earlier in the year and I don't think that is the best co-bill for Joe fans and the US. I want to throw out there my dream show. Joe/Beth opening for Joe B.

Re: Red Rocks this year

That would be my dream show also Jim! I'm super excited for this show as well, i'm expecting to meet so many bonafriends here! This will be the show of the year! big_smile

i have been daydreaming alot about this. just wanted to say IMHO it would be super ace to have Jimmy Barnes guest on Too Much Ain't Enough
and it would be almost criminal to exclude Song of Yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on the fence about possibility of Jason Bonham guesting too, various logistical difficulties come to mind.

of course it would not be a bad time to showcase Ordinary Son either!

and maybe when the sun goes down (after of course hearing When the Sun Goes Down)....Black Night for once already!

just some random fun thoughts! a great chance for a really different set and OF COURSE the ROCK aspect should be maximized!!!! Joe ROCKs Red ROCKS!!!!!!!!

all seems logical to me, of course!

.... and maybe just a smidgin of Pain and Sorrow? lol

Thank you Rick! I can't believe I left that  out as it was an integral part of this fantasy! extended version OF COURSE!!!!!
and if at all possible, Mr. Warren Haynes guesting on Calling Me Back (can you hear the spirits???) and If Heartaches Were Nickels (takes care of the obligatory blues number wink )

Obligatory Blues number? lol

Re: Red Rocks this year

Only 2 negatives the rest amazing; big walk to the top of the venue, but sooooo worth it and we want No wind!!
Red Rocks is possibly the greatest venue on earth. It's a natural amphitheater with near perfect acoustics. Joes guitar and band will sound amazing in this venue!! The rocks give a BIG sound.its like your in a canyon.

The rocks from daylight to sun down provide a breathtaking view. The color of the rocks change as the sun goes down. Then the rocks provide a killer back drop for the stage lights.

The city lights of Denver, sunset and hearing joe and the band rock out in a venue like this!!
Can't wait!!

Wow, thanks for the heads up, Patty! I imagine the code will come available sometime soon.

Re: Red Rocks this year

This is what it says on Ticketmaster about the show. This will be sooo freakin' cool!

""Muddy Wolf" at Red Rocks with Joe Bonamassa will be a one of a kind tribute event, presented by the Keeping The Blues Alive foundation. Guitar Hero Joe Bonamassa is set to perform this exclusive concert experience by celebrating his blues roots and honoring two legends in the genre, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. This tribute concert performance will be held on August 31st, 2014 at the beautiful Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It will feature a special "hand-picked" band different from Bonamassa's regular touring band and will be filmed for PBS and Palladia. The material for the show will be sourced from the amazing catalogs of Howlin' Wolf, one of the most influential Chicago bluesmen of all time and Muddy Waters, considered the "father of modern Chicago blues." A full set will be dedicated to a selection of songs from each artist, followed by closing out the amazing night with a set of songs from Bonamassa's own extensive catalog. Don't miss this one of a kind show."

Re: Red Rocks this year

No doubt this will be the show of the year!
Slow Train's negative about the climb can't be worse than the 1/2 mile walk up the hill from the Bluesapalooza venue at Mammoth to the hotel @ 8500 feet! I think the Red Rocks venue is about 6500 ft.

Yes, thank you Patty!  Do you know if all the fall shows will be on pre-sale on Tuesday as well?  Haven't seen anything come through about that yet.
