Topic: Adios to Paco De Lucia

Arguably the greatest guitarist of any genre and of any time, Paco De Lucia passed away today at the 'young age' of 66.

I had heard 'Friday Night in San Francisco' many years before, but really got on to him at a later stage when I saw him doing an improv with my fave player, Jan Akkerman.  This led into furious search for his music which still exists today.  My one regret is not seeing him live.

Jan in his interview said that Paco had 'Hands Greater than the greatest Pickpocket' which I always though was really funny.

RIP

Re: Adios to Paco De Lucia

What a loss! And yes, I am very glad I saw him around 10 years ago at a show in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. In June I will spent holidays in Andalucia not far away from his birthplace and I have hoped to see him again......
RIP
