Our local ticket agency has just e-mailed to say that Joe is playing at the St. Goarshausen classic rock festival in Germany in June:

Good spot Kenny, I never realised they were the same dates. The original e-mail I received came from the Eventim ticket agency with the same link to buy tickets that you've posted on the download festival thread.
I checked the festival on Google and got the link I posted in my original post above, which basically gives the same info as Eventim...

Hi Anna, you obviously have the same info as me - I checked the Julian Sas' website and the Rocknacht is on his tour dates list and when you click on it, you get a link to the festival site showing Joe playing...
But, as Kenny says, he's supposed to be playing the Download festival...hopefully somebody can clear this up....
Exactly, Bluemac. Maybe Joe will be playing the Download Festival on Friday, 13 or Sunday, 15?!
The "Loreley Rocknacht" would be just in the middle of the two possibilities.
He is due to play Download on the Saturday immediately before Status Quo. That was confirmed by the promoter.

Hi Anna, I was confused by this too. It would appear that there was a two-day festival called the HiRock festival planned at the same venue, on 14-15 June, which has been cancelled. The ticket website suggests that those who had tickets for the cancelled festival could use them for the Rocknacht festival, where Joe is meant to be playing, instead...the whole thing seems very unclear...

So, as it stands at the moment, we have one of the big European ticket agencies contacting people to say Joe is playing the Rocknacht festival in Germany on June 14 and offering tickets for sale, while the promoter of the Download festival has apparently confirmed that Joe is playing at the Download festival that day.
Hopefully somebody from Joe's organisation can confirm where Joe will actually be playing that day, so nobody buys tickets for a gig, only to be disappointed and find that Joe isn't there.

Hello all! Hate to make another announcement like this, but the promoters seem to be getting a bit too excited over there and have jumped the gun once again and given us incorrect dates! Once everything has cleared itself up, I will make an official announcement stating the correct dates. Please keep an eye out for our that, I don't want anyone to purchase a ticket that is for the wrong day!
I got an e- mail today from eventful: Joe Satriani will play on the Loreley Freilichtbühne too.
