Topic: TdF Shepherd's Bush - John Henry - which guitar?

Hi All,

I beg your indulgence of my newbie inquiry.

I don't recognize the guitar Joe played on TdF/Shepherd's Bush/John Henry.  The DVD booklet's "Guitars Used" section lists two Les Pauls (Magellan, The Runt).  I looked up photos of those two guitars on burstserial.com; to my untrained eye, they don't look anything like the one played during JH on the DVD.  Poor fool that I am, what am I missing?

Welcome to the Forum.

Can't get to YouTube right now to take a look.  But if it's either Runt or Magellan, the Runt has the red coloring, and Magellan is the normal faded burst color.

I think the guitar he used is a 59 reissue les Paul made to look like Paul Kossoff's stripped top Les Paul.

Yes the guitar he used is a 1959 reissue he sent to historic makeovers where they stripped the top and patterned the wear after paul kossoffs stripped top. Here is a video of the guitar being played, and another one of it being discussed...
