although I must admit I am not 100% sure I know what it means. I just checked Wikipedia (BTW please $upport them if you use the site) so I am thinking this means
one MEEEEllion copies of the CD set sold?
wiki says something about 100000 sold for a music video, I don't know what that means cause I think if it means the dvd that should have already gone platinum?
anyway very cool. as I said before it was an almost perfect thing! amazing and its such a feel good thing to watch
I'm pretty sure the Platinum sales award is for the DVD. 100K is a huge number for a music DVD. So far no Gold or Platinum CD sales 500,000 or 1,000,000 copies for any artist is a daunting feat especially for an Indy label. Those kind of sales would chart in Billboard hot 100. That is getting harder and harder to do now that CD sales overall have plummeted.
RAH had already gone Gold or Platinum in Germany but the unit sales for each country is different. Just seem to remember a year or so ago that award given.
Yes, 100,000 units, especially in the US of A, is an incredible number of live musical performance DVD units sold! I think some don't ever break even.
This brings smiles. Joe Bonamassa at The Royal Albert Hall is Joe's gold standard performance. Platinum sales, do some math. Average over 50 sales a day over 4 years...
Joe's Beacon and Vienna show DVD's should be doing fairly well also.

ps-didn't even mention Tour De Force, with 4 different at less than a year since performance a bit premature to review (?), not past Christmas yet! Of course that applies for ALL Joe everything, too.
