lol! Got to get up pretty early around here
I'm just noticing that Jim had been "scooped". I figure now there are two ways for people to notice this. Although it will be featured here, Monday.
Sweet...very Swingin' Christmas tune
Nice!! I love the other 2 christmas' songs and playing them during the holidays!!
I'm guessing Joe didn't bring a whole horn ensemble into the studio just to record this one song - I wonder if this is a taste of what the new album/Joe Mk III is going to sound like next year...!?
Bluemac.. In just the few short years I've followed Joe faithfully, he has never once flogged an entire new album at a show like so many other bands.
Most bands flog their new album and put in a 'few greats' per show.
Joe does it the other way around,, flogs the greats and puts in a few new songs per show.
Driving Towards the Daylight came out in what May 22, 2012 and didn't even really start to add any songs of that album (CD) till what Spring of 2013?
Haven't listened to this whole track yet but it sounds like Swing.
But remember many artists do 'one off' Christmas CD's
This was retro RocknRoll to my ears. Elvis immediately jumped up and lived again. Love it!

Hey Doug, I wasn't suggesting for one minute Joe would flog an entire album at a show, as you put it. Joe said in an interview after the Tour de Force shows that it was possibly time to reinvent himself and Kevin Shirley said on one of the DVDs that there would be a new version of Joe in 2014. I was just wondering aloud if he was going to go for a more horns-based sound. I might well be totally and utterly wrong....
I would imagine they probably recorded this song when they had all the horn guys there for the Beth and Joe album they released in the spring.
Love the new track!! I was just playing the other two this past weekend!!
Does he have enough songs to do a complete Christmas CD now?

Not yet, but one of these years......wishing for one sooner, but at one song per year it will take awhile, but as always it will be worth the wait! Plj
Look guys, a "Christmas Date Blues" video! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEGGGOWb … e=youtu.be
Interesting that Joe mentioned on this week's Pickup Radio show (the Christmas one) that he and Kevin Shirley have worked on a couple of Christmas songs this year and that they might put out a Christmas album next year if all goes well.
