guido and RickB, I have to fly in anyway, so which show or venue is better, Oakland or Santa Barbara?

Oakland without a doubt. A classic gilded movie palace with great acoustics. I haven't been to Santa Barbara but doubt it could come close. Airfare will be a lot less to Oakland than Santa Barbara too. The airport is quite close to the venue. No more than a 15 minute cab ride. We all met at an eatery within a block or so last time.

It's not unusual for PBS tickets to a future JB show to be offered before the general sale, but that information is not posted here by Joe's people. Sometimes we members know and post alerts, but not always. Good for you that you caught it and were able to get tickets.

Is Oakland a PBS show also?  I might be able to make that one.

Re: Fall 2013 Tour

Here is an additional date - New Orleans,  Tuesday, November 26th

The support group for the local PBS affiliate, Friends of Louisiana Public Broadcasting, has tickets for sale.  They list the venue as "TBD".  I tried searching at the websites for the most likely places, but came up empty.   Here is the link for the tickets that are available now as a fundraiser for LPB:

http://beta.lpb.org/index.php/pledge/pl … sa_concert

Now I have to make a decision, buy from them, support a good cause, but not get to pick my seats OR wait for the presale. The presale should be less expensive and I can pick my own seats from whatever is available.  What do you think?  Pro's and con's, please.

Tough decision. Twice I've bought tickets through PBS for a Joe show and once got pretty good seats - center section about 13 rows back - the other time not so great - far, far left about 12 rows back. I've always had much better luck through pre-sales. Others might tell you different.
I will say this: I clicked on the link you provided, and the ticket prices offered are cheaper than most any other PBS offering for Joe I've seen recently. For example, in Minneapolis the prices were $250 for two tickets (not sold individually), and $500 for two tickets and a meet and greet.
Good luck!

Hi Glow Gal.  What I have been told and experienced is that PBS tickets are available long before any other offering, and that they always take all the premium seats, leaving the dregs for the general public (others may have a different experience).  I surely understand your hesitation to buy an unknown seat location, but most PBS's should be among the best seats in the house.  I did have a bad experience once where I got a PBS seat in 5th row but way over next to the wall, so I couldn't even see Tal or Carmine...  I learned later (too late) that some PBS locations evidently hold onto a couple extra good seats to move people who end up with viewing obstructions - you have to notify a PBS rep at the venue.  I also am nervous taking the chance on what non-PBS seats might be left, so in the end I would go with PBS, despite the extra cost.  But act fast, they sell out quickly.  And earlier buyers supposedly get better seat assignments.  Hope this helps.

Well, I wavered for quite a while, decided to wait on the presale, then New Orleans was not included.  So PBS it is.  I am a little bothered by the venue still being "TBD", but decided to take the plunge.  I knew I would be kicking myself if I did not go, no matter what the venue.  So it is on my calendar now.  Thanks for the input.

Whoops, look like it was on the presale - well I am set now anyway.

I have always wanted to see Joe play the Fox Theater in Atlanta... FINALLY it's happening!!! I first saw him open for Frampton at the Variety Playhouse years ago and was immediately hooked halfway through the 1st song (back when he had a van and trailer). I've only missed one GA show since then (had to see the USGP last November instead) but will definitely be cheering him at the Fabulous FOX!!! JOE, JOE, JOE!!!

When I read your post I was like, what??? when??? I hadn't heard of any GA. shows. I thought I was out of luck. I have seen Joe twice in November 2011 in Savannah and again, one week later in Atlanta at Cobb Energy, and this past November in Columbus, GA.
To see him in The Fox would be a dream come true, I love the venue and it is less than fifty miles from me. All I need now are some pre-sale codes and a spot in front of the computer and I am there!

I hope you got your tix, and a shout out thanks to bump827 - I'm eagerly looking forward to the Fabulous Fox ATL show just about 24 hours from now. In an interesting twist the physical trainer that my wife and I use was also at the same initial Joe show on 10-5-03 at the Variety Playhouse, the four of us will be sitting together in "The Pit" yelling "Joe, Joe, Joe!"

Devout Joe follower since he BLEW ME AWAY opening for Frampton in Atlanta in 2003!!!
1/3 through the 1st song I told my wife "Holy s_it, this guy is good!" and have never said that about another opening performer.

Hey K Eggers, yes I did and we are eagerly awaiting the show tomorrow night. Driving down from Gainesville, about fifty miles to the north, and are leaving early so we can eat and hopefully make it through traffic by 6:30.
My wife and I have seen three times but will be "bonabaptising" my brother. I had second row pit but threw them back, thinking that the pit area is low and didn't want to be staring straight up all night and we saved $40 a ticket. Now I wished I had kept the Pit seats.....enjoy the show!

My wife surprised me with tickets to the Fox theater show tomorrow night. Don't get much better than that.
