Topic: JB discography

Other than the discography on wikipedia, is there any other more complete discographies for JB?
Particularly albums he has guested on?

Just curious because I came across a cd from 1994 that a "Joe Bonamassa" plays a solo on.
Chances are it's probably him, the band was local to Syracuse, NY. I was just looking to confirm.

Thanks.

What was the name of the Album/Group?

Re: JB discography

I actually bought it because there was a local blues legend that performed on it as well and its hard to find anything he has actually recorded. Than I happened across JB's name as well.

Re: JB discography

I'm assuming you're referring to "Strike a Deep Chord - Blues Guitars for the Homeless"?  If so, then it was released in 1992.  Joe plays the solo in Johnny Winter's "Self-Destructive Blues".  I always thought Joe should re-cover this great tune.

There were at least 2 CD versions of this CD ~ the original came with an outer cardboard packaging, which the later version did not have.  The actual CDs also looked slightly different but had the same songs.  The only reason I know this is that I bought the original version the day it came out, and several years later I bought another to give to a friend of Joe Satriani's who I turned into a huge JoeB fan (and he in turn made sure that JoeS was aware of JoeB's phenomenal talent).

Either way, it's a great CD!  http://www.discogs.com/Various-Strike-A … se/4360530

Very interesting, John.  Thanks!  Always fun to learn about hidden Joe secrets.

I see at one time that Joe was known as Joe "The Stewart" Bonamassa...has anyone ever heard that or know where it came from?  Evidently not widely used.

Re: JB discography

The name of the group is "L'il Georgie and The Shufflin' Hungarians" on Queen Bee Brand Records
Came out in 1994.
JB plays a solo on the track, "Down Home Girl"

Side note:
Tom Townsley is such a great guy. He does so much for the Syracuse music scene.

Re: JB discography

Michael, Jane, how about you  both display your discography collections here, now?  It would open up the market so to speak...

Who knows, you could make some divested earnings??? hmm  At the very least, things unknown would per happenstance pop out of the blues, making things like fresh research all part of your fun collecting...just a thought or 'tude. smile

Rock ON & Keep the Faith,
Rocket

-ps-if neither of you have the guts, and I suspect neither do lol how about an email listing "eyes only" (seen most of Michael's in person, as of Dec. 2010, that is).  Private eyes, like mind, would be available to scan with the huge magnifier...for missing winks wink in the chain wink tongue
I am more about a collective than a collector, remember. big_smile
