Topic: Richmond VA tour
Dear Joe: I watched you at the Richmond venue. I would like to offer some unsolicited advice from one who has been there. After your tour ends, I would suggest that you put down the guitar for a month or so break. You have gotten into a groove where you are copying rather than finding your own sound. I heard Eric Johnson, James Burton, Gary Moore Jeff Beck but not Joe Bonamassa. I learned that you can only do so much with the blues. Take time to listen to every different kind of music out there ie African, Middle Eastern you name it ( this helped me become more creative. I learned that you can only do so much with the blues. I also think you would greatly benefit from working with a dance or body coach. You are very stiff and have a limited number of stances. This would be very helpful to help you look more self confident. I had a real hard time with that aswell. You are tall and thin and can probably accomplish some great strides and poses. Lastly I would suggest that during the time you set the guitar down (obviously you know how to play already) take some creative writing classes, poetry etc. This helped me write my own songs. You are a great guitarist and but in this day and age you need every advantage to keep the attention of the public. Best of luck.
