Why does the vision from countless cartoons....and Animal House...where there's an angel on one shoulder, and a devil on the other...come to mind?!

I can't figure out who is who though... big_smile

Re: Tour De Force Boxed Set?

Received my limited edition Blu Ray box set today!  Nicely packaged and cool Marshall Amp Box.  Love the book, great quality pictures. It had an envelope explaining about the tickets and M&G. Nice to see Michael and patty in front of SBE.  Boy, was it cold that day or what.  Can't wait to start the viewing pleasure.  Oh yeah, I got a chuckle on the outside of the box it says not to open with a sharp object. So use a dull one!  lol

It would be interesting to know how limited it is?

Re: Tour De Force Boxed Set?

Managed to watch the Third installment of the Tour De Force, Hammersmith Apollo.  IMO it began kind of slow. Was glad for the addition of Lenny Castro.  Enjoyed Athens to Athens the most of Acoustic songs.  The guitar on Cradle Rock was stellar.  Just as I was telling my husband that perhaps Joe was tired from the previous two nights the song Dislocated Boy started.  OMG.  Just the best. Have a soft spot for this song.   As DTTD came out two weeks after my first live Joe show.  Joe played it in St. Louis last year when we saw him but as part of the acoustic set(I think).  This new ramped up version was so good. Arlan was crazy. I have never seen any play keyboards like that.  I used to think Keith Emerson was the crazy piano guy but Arlan takes the cake.
Other high points for me were Dust Bowl, Sloe Gin and Just Got Paid.

I have run out of adjectives to describe what these shows are like.  Again, my fellow bonabuds that saw this transpire live witnessed something amazing

Re: Tour De Force Boxed Set?

GOT IT!! Nobody bother me for the next 10 to 12 hours!

Why don't we eliminate all the warning labels and let things sort themselves out?

Re: Tour De Force Boxed Set?

I think I'm the only person in all of Joe world that hasn't received theirs or gotten an email sad

Natasha, that's exactly the way I'm feeling about the M&G in Cleveland!!   Really sad it didn't come through.  You'll have to share your experience with the rest of us at the pre-party!

Sorry to hear that, Sally. Yours wasn't from a Litho, because I thought those were guaranteed for whatever show you want to see?

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: Tour De Force Boxed Set?

Received & viewed & totally blown away!!

Many memories of Shepherds Bush & RAH come flooding back.

The close-ups of Joe's guitar work are much appreciated.

Pain & Sorrow is a song that I really had not paid much attention to but after seeing the live Borderline version......................................

Will have to rip the audio for now but if the CD's comes out I'll get them as well.

Goddammit Joe!...............

Re: Tour De Force Boxed Set?

Phew, it finally arrived today. Probably won't be able to watch much until after we get back from Cleveland. That's okay, Joe live and in person beats Joe on a TV screen any day smile

Re: Tour De Force Boxed Set?

I have been enjoying a 4 course Tour De Force feast today - working so well with my new soundbar and the close up camera work is so sharp. Funny thing is, I do not recalling any camera distraction at the time. Great job guys.
