Re: Manchester,UK .....

HI Idolbone, would have met you there but am now due to have an operation 2 days before in Keighley and as a result can't now go, which is an absolute bummer to be sure. Just have to get my fix with the box set in October. On a different note, when are they going to start winning, Saudi prince and all ????? big_smile

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Hi Idlebone,
I'm making a last dash to get a single ticket for Manchester and am looking at Block 107. Thing is as I'm driving over from Yorkshire it would be useful to know what time the Guitarmeister is due on stage. Any idea?

Re: Manchester,UK .....

Thanks, Pete. Got my ticket last night! It's only a 45 minute drive and I'm going to park in the Arena Car Park (sod the expense) so I reckon if I leave about 6.45pm I should be ok.

Re: Manchester,UK .....

Getting a real buzz now. Might even get out the old Les Paul copy and fumble my way through something or other. If you see someone sat in the empty space in Block 107, that's me!

Tonight's the night pal !!!

Re: Manchester,UK .....

To everyone who's going to Manchester tonight, enjoy!  You're in for a treat and wish I was there with you ...

Re: Manchester,UK .....

I really don't want to upset anyone here, but is it just me or was that a bit of a mess tonight. (Manchester)
Joe's guitars were often lost in the mix and it reminded me of a Gary Moore gig I saw years ago when the sound just seemed to bounce around the venue and it was all a bit of a muddle.

On the songs with keyboards, the organ sound just took over and for the first time at a JB concert, I was seeing polite applause

No offence either to the guest guitarist - Ellie - but she wasn't really given any sort of platform to show if was any good or not. Not really sure why she was there.

So for me - not a great night. I would be interested to hear from anyone else there tonight.

Re: Manchester,UK .....

Great show, quite different to Cardiff, the audience were more lively on a Saturday night in Manchester than midweek Cardiff. Accoustics weren't as good but still OK from where we were  - front row in line with the bongos, absolutely the best seats we could ever hope to get. I even caught a plectrum at the end!

Derek had swapped his wooly hat for a blue and white bandana and was actually recognisable. He seems to be relishing his new role. As for Tal and Carmine, brilliant as always.

Joe gave his all and, for my money, delivered 100%.

It was one of those gigs that leave you wanting more, and Dust Bowl on the CD player helped with the two and a half hour drive home. I couldn't help thinking that The Last Matador, Heartbreaker, No Love on the Street and Prisoner would all be very wonderful live!

Brighton next Saturday? I have one ticket and am very tempted..........
