I must say that it was only by talking with my fellow Knopfler fans on our forum (A Mark In Time) that a friend  had found a radio broadcast of Joe talking about MK and how he would like to collaborate with him one day! all I say is bring it on!!

That led me to look into Joe and I'm hooked and so is my wife too!!
and what just happened to be on Sky Arts1 HD yesterday morning - Joe in New York live concert - wow oh wow!!

I LOVE hearing people's reaction when they first learn about Joe.  Yeah, he's something special and you will certainly be blown away on Friday.  Looks like we could be near neighbours although I'm actually in Corfe Mullen ...

Re: Joe In Bournemouth

Looking forward to seeing our daughter's reaction to her first Joe show...it's been fascinating over the last 2 or 3 years to see how much Joe magic has crept it's way into her ipod playlists amongst all the typical 18 year old girl stuff! 3 seats, 3rd row back, who cares about the cost and the drive from Plymouth...Joe's the only guy we've driven to shows all over the country to see...bring it on smile

Re: Joe In Bournemouth

Just seen Joe's tweet with the pics of the buses outside the BIC!  How exciting!  LK was in Bournemouth earlier today and saw them parked outside so hope Joe is managing to see a bit of our lovely beaches and countryside as he's got a day off.  Some chance, eh Joe?  If you're at a loose end you're always welcome to pop round for a cuppa big_smile

Parental influence and teenage independent venturing...Wow.  I think you may be on to something, there, mandtj!  Perhaps this is the most effective way to clean up the crappy passive / television and other media's featured "presentations"  of "contemporary", "popular" "commercial" (won't count "Indie" because Joe truly qualifies and a university dissertation could dissect any essays of "them") "music business" entertainment offerings held in fairly universal disdain by those exercising (an active) discriminating musical preference algorithm with more personal, internal input than outside(rs).  Simplified, I hypothesize that mutually comfortable and respected parent-child roles can include musical taste as easily as handing down career or trade or hobbies.  I have seen much evidence with people I know here!!!  Good to see it continue and grow.

This is THE Foundation of how we Save the Blues cool

Enjoy mandtj and daughter! big_smile  Hit up the Show Reviews and Setlists later? hmm

Hi LynB,
Yes from what I have heard already Joe is fantastic and here's to only 10 hours and we will be hearing it LIVE!!
ps: We are in Oakdale - so not far from you!!

Re: Joe In Bournemouth

Only another 4 hours or so to go before THE event of the year in BoMo!  Just waiting for the "girls" to arrive, then a quick bite to eat and off we go!

This weekend sees the kick off of the Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival so there are events going on in The Square, Lower Gardens and Pier Approach tonite for those who need to while away the time before the main event.  Parking might be at a premium near the centre of the town though.  But the sun is shining so it's ALL good.

Must have been one hell of a good night, been over for nearly three hours and still nothing reported!

Joe will be onstage in Manchester in 19 hours, I had best get a good night's sleep - if I can !!

Just watched that and had tears in my eyes. This is my sons fav JB song and will will get to hear this 14 min version in Brighton next Saturday from row 6. We have seen Joe 8 times in the past three years or so and we dont get so excited before hand with any other band save Beth and Black Sabbath.  Soooooo cant wait, the setlist just looks awesome.

Re: Joe In Bournemouth

Makes it all the more bad I can't now attend because of my op. Great set list and Derek sounds great., Hope more vid hits You tube. Thanks for posting... big_smile
