Hey Dino..I forgot..Could you ask him about his label. How big is he going? How does it tie in with his upcoming "world" music project? Thanks Cathy......

Hey Dino..I forgot..Could you ask him about his label. How big is he going? How does it tie in with his upcoming "world" music project? Thanks Cathy......
Hey Dino...
My take would be that music changes lives for the better.....we all know that.
And JB's takin' it to bottom rung.....with the kids.
It ain't about pushin' the band, it's about pushin' music.
It's a selfless effort.....
See that...just when a guy is feeling comfortable.
Nah just kidding.
Hey Jim...did you hear I dedicated a song to your son?
No I didn't. Thanks I'll let him know his 15 minutes of fame has started. I didn't listen to the show but from what I read here it sounded like a good time. What song did you play for him?
thickfreakness by the black keys
I'll let him know. He played me some the other day. It was OK. I didn't ask him to copy it though. He gets it. I guess you got to be a little hipper than a dad can be.
Hi Dino,
Here's My Situation...Jane has turned me into a deep thinker, especially when it comes to music, so she takes blame or credit for my suggestions.
I don't know if you picked up on the age of 64 as opposed to 65....it's because of my love for the Beatles and Sir Paul's song about "When I'm Sixty-Four", which just so happens to be on the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album (such a bluesy title) and another fans comment about the analogy of Sloe Gin being the Sgt. Pepper of the blues. The sequence of songs on Sgt. Pepper is famous in itself and there has been much written about Sgt. Pepper being a concept album, experimenting with different sounds etc.
http://www.jbonamassa.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3195
Getting in deeper...From the first time I heard Dirt In My Pocket at about the 2:14 mark (the bridge) I had a very Sgt. Pepper/Beatlesque/George moment...I was thinking of George's tune from Sgt. Pepper's one track before When I'm Sixty-Four titled "With You Without You". So, if you feel it/understand what I'm saying another interesting question...How do you feel about "Sloe Gin" being compared to the Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" album as in being revolutionary to the blues as Sgt. Pepper was to music at that time? (keeping in mind Rolling Stone magazine voted Sgt. Pepper the #1 album of 500 all time albums)
Or...How can the use of strings be considered the blues...the song "India" that ends Sloe Gin could easily be heard in a speciality Indian market; does this tie into your plans of a world music project? (tie in Cathy's idea )
Or...Do you think some of your adoring fans are borderline obsessive over your music and are starting to over analyze you like many a Beatle fan did? (pretty soon they'll be playing your music backwards, looking for clues to understand you...
Or...Joe can you give me any insight into the lyrics of "Dirt In My Pocket"? What kinda' dirt on your conscience are we talking about..inquiring minds want to know...

Dino don't forget the dash of patronizaton you spread on top of the intro... and oh yeah, atsa Bonamaffia to you , that's the proper noun enunciation with the nicea tight necktie you be aware, capice?

There are times when 'wanker' is quite apt methinks but is it ok on this site. Maybe it means different things in different countrys??

Dear Everyone,
I want to thank you all, especially Angela. Today I have been moving, new bigger apartment. Tonight I sat and read Azzerrads book, and then later took a tub and read part of Klostermans new book. I think I have been moved by the writing to a new sort of perspective.
So tonight I listened to all the records, in order. After the show, when I realized I was missing one, I went and bought that. So I sat and listened from from to back. Non stop. It was pretty amazing. It has sort of led me to this sort of dramatic place.
For whatever reason you all came into my life a few years ago through Sara in Wisconsin. As a group, our relationship has not been a good one in a lot of instances. I have been involved in this forum in ways that sort of do not work for me. Regardless.
I have written a weekly music column now for about a year, and at no point have I ever engaged the fans of a musician in this way. I think it is a mistake. I think it is because I am horribly in love, or like with Sara. I had always wanted to impress the girl, maybe get some of you to like my friend...and it has always been a twisted thing.
So, that being said...I have my Joe articles done. The one as a preview of the show, and the other a feature in a magazine. I am hoping to talk to Jim Moody tomorrow about it, as I trust his musical palatte.
Other than that, I am going to say good bye to you all. I have loved my interaction from the radio show. I liked talking to Kathy, Stu, and Jim Moody is a stud. But I think that soliciting your ideas for the article really screwed with my head.
Its nothing you all did. Its my head. My journey as a writer. Its okay.
Let us restate the givens...
1. I think Joe is one of the five best guitar players in America.
2. I believe Joe is the best slide player in America.
3. I like Joe as a dude.
4. I love Joe as performer.
5. I paid retail for all the records, SLOE GIN twice if you count iTunes.
That being said...and your already mad arent you...I need to allow myself to have my own voice as it relates to Joe. This does not mean it is a negative voice, but it means that I fear the 14 bad words reaction. I fear that if I write a sentence that is slightly negative, or could be perceived that way...I will again be out in the weeds with you all.
Yesterday I feared that. Today I realized that I cant fear that.
My role in the column is to tell the truth, to convey the information, and to offer my opinion. Notoriously I never write anything negative, and I do not think I will in preview for this gig in Wausau.
I am going to go, and leave this board. I do like you all. Feel free to email me if you like. I have no plans to write anything negative. I have worked both articles out, and they are both flattering, and critically interesting.
See you all at Shank Hall or wherever.
Thanks for letting me have a great time. I am sorry I upset you sometimes.
Sounds like a Dear John letter Dino. You finally start to win us over and you want to break it off? Yeah I really felt like a stud when you called and I couldn't answer because I was changing the grandson's poop diaper.
We'll talk tomorrow.
I LOVE THE JOE BONAMASSA FORUM!!
I think it is because I am horribly in love, or like with Sara. I had always wanted to impress the girl,
WOW.. WHO KNEW, LOL.. well i did.. but didnt know we were sharing this with the whole bonamaffia community!
well mr. man you know how you do that.. write positive things about the men i love.. lol.. esp Joe
Hi Sara and Dino (if you're still checking in),
At this point you can't leave us hanging...keep us posted on the interview and if this develops into romance...I love happy endings. In honor of this thread I'm dedicating 2 songs from the Beatles Sgt. Pepper's album to Sara and Dino.
I would prefer to think of Joe loving fans as Bonabuddies rather than belonging to the Bonamafia, although I understand the jist of what was meant. A mafia is a secret & criminal society, according to the dictionary...I'm thinking we're not real secrective here or criminal.
"WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIENDS"
"Do you need anybody,
I just need someone to love,
Could it be anybody,
I want somebody to love.
I get by with a little help from my friends,
Yes, I get by with a little help from my friends,
With a little help from my friends."
"GETTING BETTER"
"I've got to admit it's getting better
A little better all the time
I have to admit it's getting better
It's getting better since you've been mine."

Angela, sorry to disappoint, but there will be no fireworks in the air between the two of us....
we just share a common "banter" of sorts since being invloved in the same organizations here in WI (great northern blues society and wnrb radio). he professes his love in a joking manner, he might have a slight crush but he knows..
sorry to get your hopes up for a happily ever after.. truly though someday it might be a sweet story to have two bonamassa fans fall in love and meet cuz of the music and the man.. or maybe they have already.. someone should start that post.. "relationships cuz of joe" lol..
cheers!
Hi Sara,
Now that would be some good Joe Soap--relationships cuz of Joe. I do recall seeing photos of 2 Texans, Kevin & Janis (also big Beatle fans) in JB t-shirts exchanging wedding vows! I'm not sure if they met before or during being mutual Joe fans?
Anyway, it's nice that your involved with the blues society..I'll get my happily ever after fix elsewhere...my hubby and I are currently working on matchmaking a broken hearted lady (broken engagement) with a guy we know who can't seem to meet Mrs. Right.
Tell Dino I thought of one more Dino that I knew...my grandmother's hairdresser forever....when she wasn't driving anymore she use to cook for him so he would drop her off at the Atlantic City casinos to gamble...so that's 2 Dino hairdressers I know of which means WI Dino was a hairdresser in his former life.
I love your signature Sara...I have it hanging on a wooden plaque over the door outiside of the music room in my basement.
Cheers back to you.
