Zeyer, this is hysterical.
Yeah, finding correct lyrics is tough. In listening to Joe's whole RAH, it was hard for me to understand most anything. It's unbelievable how much of the wrong lyrics I was singing along with. Instead of "Mississippi's where I think my best" I thought it was "Mississippi's where I make my bed", and something completely ridiculous instead of "In the battle of sinners and saints", can't recall right now, it was funny though...too many misinterpretations to mention.
Problems partly arise in Joe's singing style. His practice of eliminating s's at the end of words (is that some official vocal technique?), his different pronunciations of "girl" ("geerul I know there"), and "she won't waht too long", etc. etc. Then he goes and completely changes a line from the original "Now I hate the city and I love the country" - - Jane had to beg him to reveal what the change was he has been using the last couple years that nobody could make out and she finally got him to write part of it on her shirt (see her avatar!), so it doesn't get any more official than that!
Then there's the suspected incorporation of a French phrase (coup d'amour????) in Slow Train. It's just not fair!
There are lots of threads on here with people always asking what the lyrics are. But we'll never again be able to listen to Mountain without thinking vegetables!!!

I need some Joe...NOW.
