Topic: top other artists

One great thing is all the new music that gets introduced here.There has been so many great new artists I have discovered here.
   So I thought it might be nice for those who are newer here and even us long time forum dwellers to tell the class who your favorite discoveries have been over the last few years.One that you think would appeal to the average Joe fan.I would say to try to stay away from the very common major acts.
  So My picks are.
Philip Sayce
Henrik Freischlader
Blindstone
Stone Machine
Rival Sons
Steepwater Band
SUN (Something Unto Nothing)
Dave Osti
Guitar Pete
Just a quick list.

A little younger is the "kid" who Buddy Guy has taken under his wing - Quinn Sullivan.  Wowed the crowd at Crossroads. Buddy and Quinn are currently on tour..

We got home after midnight from Gov't Mule in Red Bank NJ and there was Quinn playing with the Roots on Jimmy Fallon

Re: top other artists

What a great subject. I have certainly discovered some amazing music in the last 6 or so months thanks to this forum:

Firstly these are acts I've already had the chance to see live;

Henrik Freischlader
Billy Walton Band
Virgil & The Accelerators
Ryan McGarvey
King King
Julian Sas
Mitch Laddie

Secondly these are acts I will be seeing live this year;

Royal Southern Brotherhood
Nimmo Brothers
Aynsley Lister

Thirdly these are acts I'm waiting for the chance to see live;

Wilson T. King (By far the most amazing guitarist I've heard in a long long time)
Eric Steckel
Chantel McGregor
Bart Walker
Danny Bryant

Hi Kenny, alas I didn't forget Gary Clark Jr wink he was on the 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD. My first time seeing him was since joining this forum though, and it's been twice wink with him also on the billing for the Rolling Stones first Hyde Park gig in a months time.

The Crossroads Festival DVDs and live releases by Gov't Mule and the Allman Brothers Band have introduced me to some tasty musicians and singers over the years. Such as; Luther Dickinson, Dana Fuchs, Susan Tedeschi & Robert Randolph.

Nice one Steve. I am also looking forward to seeing Gary support the Stones in Hyde Park. What sort of reception did he get at the Albert Hall?

Re: top other artists

Not sure if she qualifies as she's been out a while but I love Grace Potter who opened for Gov't Mule a few years back and is now doing well with The Nocturnals.  Neither am I sure but Derek Trucks is still fairly young and a guitar genius along with Warren Haynes and all HIS groups.
