Re: Joe and Beth Hart

"On the back of Don’t Explain, there would have been surely no hesitation in recording together again and in Seesaw the music is near as exemplary as is possible to get without delving into a world where no other music exists. Beth Hart uses her smoky like vocals to breathe life into songs that didn’t even know they were gasping for air. Tracks made famous by legends are given a new task in life and whilst nothing will ever replace the sound of the likes of Billie Holiday or Tina Turner, Beth Hart pays homage respectively and with a huge amount of vigour."

"With the thoughts of the Hangman we return in spirit to Led Zep III and the Gallows Pole, “Hangman, wait a little while, my sister is coming to rescue me”. Beth Hart is that sister which ensures that this project will overcome any hangmen doubters. Supported by a slick Bonamassa the duo cast away ropes around the neck, chains and shackles in order to deliver some powerful messages not only about our musical heritage but also about the recent history of mankind."
Every review just ups the anticipation. Thanks Beth. You are so on top of Beth I often wonder of you are Beth! Or Scott!
I have always felt Beth had a connection to Etta James, but I was not aware how intense and fully ingrained it is in her, even though the ears were beyond nominal suspicion.
Can't wait much more...

Thanks - I was thinking all night at her show tonight on who she reminds me of and Etta James is a perfect comparison. She takes us to church and wrings the audience out.
I wasn't paying attention to how often, consistent, and insistent her references and plaudits toward Etta occurred over time. Her favorite, all albums, I understand now...
On my way to your review of the show in the other artists section...
