Sure. The 827 is my birthday.

Years ago in a galaxy far far away...

I was on a Springsteen board that didn't have registration at first. I didn't use any ingenuity and just posted as "Alan". Somehow I managed to attract some troll who started posting stupid comments using my name. So I'd post "^not Alan" underneath. And when they finally did get registered names I did as "Alan ^not Alan".

I then went on another forum where someone pointed out that "^" was Internet slang to "bump" a thread so it would come to the top of that forum. Somehow it developed to bump827 which stuck. And is my email addy @ yahoo.

Whew!

Alan

Well firstly I cannot believe how time and posts have flown by, - and with so much waffle from me, - thank you all for humouring me. - Now the thing is that this forum is so much more than just an online digital footprint, - it is a virtual fireplace... - For many thousands or years music has gathered people together around the camp fire at the end of a hard day, people would travel from miles around to socialise, to swap stories and discuss opinions and listen to music, - well that is exactly what Joe does. He brings people together., - I could not help but think about this at the recent Royal Albert Hall show after Phil (Wooders) had put so much effort into making sure we were entertained that afternoon, and meeting people from miles away for the first time and having such a laugh.

So thank you virtual friends and real life friends and friends who I have yet to meet as a result of Joe's music, and of course thank-you Mr. Bonamassa and his team.

Thanks Robin - I'm not sure everyone agrees. Not that I really do things just to win friends or influence enemies. But I stand my ground.

Thanks. Funny related story. When Animal House opened in NYC the newspapers were on strike as I remember. No online, no iPhones, etc. so movies stayed at the same movie houses for weeks. We went to see Animal House probably four weeks in a row!

Re: 1,000th Post

From what I recall, don't these 1000th post threads generally belong in the Off Topics section because they are solely about an individual forum member and not Joe? I always thought the front page was reserved for Joe specific topics.

Works for me - do I need a moderator to move?
