Topic: Hello, new here ;)

Hey, how's it going?

My name is Jonathan and I'm from Ireland.

I first listened to Joe around half a year ago and I was blew away by him. I found his sound and style to be first-class and I've been hooked on him since. My main other favourites include Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore so when I heard Joe, I was delighted to see someone who to me, has a very similar style to their playing to the two mentioned above, as well as being at being young compared to some of the other guitarists and bands I like. wink

I'll be going to see a concert of Joe in Brighton near the end of September and I'm really looking forward to it. It'll be my first concert ever so it's a good start.

Hope to stick around a hear from fellow users wink

@ Coach305

Táim go maith, go raibh maith agat, agus tusa?

I'm very bad at Irish though. I had some help from Google haha.

@ dknight16

I know who you're on about but no, I'm not that guy, sorry.

I chose to have Emerald as part of my username due to the fact I'm from Ireland, as well as the fact that when I think of emeralds, I think of Celtic-Rock music and mountains, and rough Irish landscape. wink

Welcome Jonathan!  You can be sure that it may be your first concert, but not your last.  I am pretty new to Joe's music too, but one thing that is a bonus for us newcomers, we can really dig in deep to his whole catalog, all at once!

Fortunate too that Joe is so very international as he tours, you will get many more chances to see him.

Do you know about his "Keeping The Blues Alive" Foundation?    He produces instructional videos available to schools and even raises money to buy instruments for school music programs in places hard hit by funding cuts.

Consider joining his Street Team it is a great way to share the Joy his music brings!

Cool, I'm glad you like it. It's probably my favourite Gary Moore album, followed closely by Still Got the Blues. After that, it's impossible to single out any more albums as I love nearly all his stuff equally. wink

@ tahoerimriders

Haha, yeah, that's true. It's great to be able to dive into a huge catalogue of music and discover even more stuff that we like.

Yeah, that's also true. I doubt this concert will be my last Joe Bonamassa concert wink

No, I never knew of his "Keeping The Blues Alive" foundation. I shall have a look into it. Thanks. wink

Yeah, I heard about his Street Team as well and it's something I'd be interested in.
How would I go about joining up? I tried through this link, http://bonamassastreetteam.com/ but I haven't heard back or anything. Is there some other way to become a member or whatever?

You can try going thru his main website, there should be a Street Team thing to click on.   Once you register, the only way to know that it was successful is you will start to get e-mails and newsletters.

I would bet there is a link to the Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation from the main web site too.

I learned a lot in this Forum by poking around the Street Team category, putting up posts with questions and also just searching the different "threads".
