2012/13 College Basketball Season (Page 11 of 13)

A couple years back, when Pres. Obama didn't include Duke to go far in his bracket coupled with the comment by my son's surgeon, I got into a discussion about why folks dislike Duke. They are successful at winning and have high academic standards...their program doesn't get recruiting violations, their student-athletes aren't there to be recruited for the NBA and some other positive things. I started feeling different about them, BUT let me tell you, if felt fabulous when 'Nova beat Duke a few years back...its rare thay we play them, let alone beat them...they are always good.

I heard a little buzz that Jim Boeheim may call it quits after this year, but I think its just rumors. It will be interesting to see how all the reorganization pans out.

Me too and now is the time for the Aztecs to finally get a break. 9 Pacific time is tipoff against a team that has given them fits this year. Fingers crossed.

edit: They did what they needed to this time. Boise State probably is teetering on the last film of the bubble. The bracket pundits were putting 5! teams from the MWC in the dance but now maybe not. UNM is very tough with two 7 footers inside.

I was out last night, so I didn't see Syracuse beat Georgetown in overtime!!! But, WOW, what a great win for your Orange team!!

Aztecs played bad and lost ugly. Stephens needs to learn you don't try to force it inside against two 7 footers.

The Lobo fans are out in force. You have got to hand it to them for their great support. It was like a home game for the Lobos last night. I had a great time with the Lobos fans seated next to me at the game. I scrambled to get my tickets during the drive home after the Rebels game since the box office was closed. Technology, you have got to love it. I had my tickets ordered just blocks away from the T&M. I picked them up this morning. It’s going to be a fast paced game and our guys are all healthy and ready for some payback.

Tough game Bill. UNM is good and showed why.
Brackets are up and I got a blast from the forum CBS deal from last year. Go pickem.

I missed the documentary, but it'll be rerun and I'll watch it.  I always liked Jimmy and those words are so, so true.  I remember watching the '83 game with my future wife and friends in Atlanta and picking my jaw off the floor after the "shot".

I also remember seeing Coach K at a basketball game in Bloomington and he was an Indiana assistant to Bob Knight.  While at Army Knight coached MK, his team captain, to their best record and a trip to the NIT.  For a long time I had hoped Coach K would succeed Knight at Indiana.  I've always felt he took the best of RMK's teaching and molded it into his own style and there's no argument he's the best coach of all time.

It was great to see about everyone's team making the post season.  It's too bad Alabama and Kentucky failed to make it, but the selection committee just weren't that impressed with the SEC this year.  IU's lackluster finish cost them the Midwest, but maybe it's a blessing.  I'm a bit worried about playing Syracuse and which team will show up on both sides.

I guess they had to give Gonzaga the West, but I'll be surprised if they win two games.

I'm sorry I missed that feature. (some pre-travel packing and sorting? )
My Aztecs got a 7.  Better than expected and the shocker was the respect the MWC got with FIVE spots! Testimony on how tough this league has become. Sooners here we come. I hope SDSU plays better than lately.
