Live - Deepest End
Studio - Dose

Actually you can't go wrong with Mule. The two above are my favorites.

I’m from the old school, like the old rules - HEADACHES TO HEARTBREAKS

Re: Gov't Mule help

Studio: "By A Thread" and "Life before insanity".
Live: "The Deep End Volumes 1 and 2". or with a "Little Help from our friends" if you want some excellent covers like "cortez The Killer" and "War Pigs"...

just get them all! wink

Re: Gov't Mule help

As a self confessed Mule nut I find this a really difficult question and totally agree with Ian's last sentence.

If pressed, however, I would say that the above are excellent suggestions and the CDs I would have recommended. If you ask Joe he would recommend Life Before Insanity as his favourite Mule CD, which I'm sure will be all the recommendation you need. big_smile

Re: Gov't Mule help

Just announced in www.bluesmagazine.nl   July 6th Gov't Mule headliner Rootsfestival in Utrecht The Netherlands.

Agree with Deepest End. Great start.

D) ALL OF THE ABOVE.....and if you go to their website you can buy any number of live concerts from various venues through the years. Most of them are high quality stuff, not crummy bootlegs.

I know it´s not Gov´t Mule, but Warren Haynes - Live at Moodys.

2 Cd´s & a DVD - value for money!

Re: Gov't Mule help

My favorite Warren Haynes is Live from Bonaroo.  It is just Warren and an accoustic guitrar.  Lots of Mule songs plus some others.  Great stuff.

I have this one. I saw Warren play the DMB Caravan at the Gorge. It was awesome.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'll check out some of those studio albums and the show downloads.

Absoulely agree with everyone about all the CDs!

Pick up the just released Georgia Bootleg box set. 6 CD's from 3 nights. They have been in my CD changer in my truck since I received the set. Unbelievable. Great price on Amazon for the CD set.

By a Thread and the Holy Haunted House boot is pretty damn good.

Re: Gov't Mule help

All of them are a must - but what to start with depends on what kind of other music you like?

If you say you already have - and like - the Warren Haynes Band "Live at the Moody theater", then I wouldn't neccessarily go with the "Deep end" series to start with.

I would recommend "Life before insanity" / "High & Mighty" and "By a thread" for studio albums and - the absolute must-have classic - the "With a little help from our friends" live album. You can't go wrong with that.

As another "Mule nut" I do reccomend you get them all though ... wink

Re: Gov't Mule help

If you download go to bt.etree otherwise go to the Muletracks site and get some of the NYE shows from the last few years. In addition to their own two sets they always do a set of "other" music. This year it was the 3 Kings - Albert BB and Freddie. in last years Woodstock and others
