Topic: Katrina 2year anniversary

I don't know about you guys, but I feel such frustration about how the areas hit are being "rebuilt". It makes me feel like those affected by the storm think the rest of the country doesn't care. I have donated to causes like Tab Benoit's , but it's not enough. I feel the need for action, I just don't know what that action should be. Anybody have any ideas? Maybe we meet and rebuild a musician's home..I know, too big a dream...  Cathy

Re: Katrina 2year anniversary

Just a side note.
XM Bluesville has been playing songs this afternoon relating to Katrina and they did include Joe's "High Water Everywhere" although Bill Wax mistakenly said it was from Joe's latest CD. I know they have "Sloe Gin" because they've played songs from it.

Sure joebeacon, I see what you're trying to do, drag me into a political discussion just because I'm very opinionated and have a big mouth. All I can say is this, we have people still suffering from that terrible storm 2 years after it hit. We have poor and homeless people living on our streets who can't find enough to eat. We have a health care system that many in this country cannot afford anymore. And yet, we have the resources and the man power to send our brave men and women over to die for a cause that seems now to be somewhat unclear. Hey, does anyone remember the "Weapons of Mass Destruction" that we were going over there to find? I feel it's time our country re-evaluates it's position in the world and get our own affairs in order before we start sticking our noses in other people's business. JMHO!

Amen!!
According to the picture in this article, if we had a month's worth of money that was spent on Iraq, they could repair the levees and everything.
