I hope they make it to the states. A great band with the Zeppelin sound!

Dont need a helmet to get me through life-walk across the water blame it on foolish pride.

Re: Rival Sons - UK dates

Last nights show at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco was one of the most incredible shows I have EVER seen. They played for close to 2hrs and they are seriously one tight band....the singer was freakin' off the hook.

If I didn't have any responsibilities I'd drive to Portland Oregon to see their next show.

If any of you get a chance to see Rival Sons DO NOT pass it up.

Re: Rival Sons - UK dates

The German Show in Bonn will be broadcasted for "Rockpalast".

The venue in Vienna (B72) is VERY small - less than 80 people!
Saw Nashville ***%# there...

The guitar player must have pulled out 4 or 5 different Firebirds during the course of the show Firday night.

I haven't been this high on a group since '06 when I saw JB for the first time......GO SEE THEM LIVE IF YOU CAN!!!

After their Classic Rock magazine award recently; good to know they're heading back.

Couple of dates in Germany for March 2013:-

22 March - Harmonie, Bonn
29 March - Zoom, Frankfurt

28 March - Mojo Club, Hamburg!!!!!
The Rival Sons seem to like Hamburg, because it's their fourth gig here in between a year . . . and I like to see them for a fourth time!

Re: Rival Sons - UK dates

last night's gig was superb. 3 bands for £15, - unbelievable bargain! - But cost aside I would have to say that Rival Sons performance last night is easily within my Top 3 EVER gigs. - And a vocal performance from Jay Buchanan better than anything I have ever seen in over 35 years of attending gigs.

If you have not yet seen this band do NOT miss the opportunity, - could not help but think that we were witnessing something historic last night because they must surely be on their way to something massive? - Think Jay was quite emotional about the "sell-out gig" as were other band members, - bass and drums, - perfect rhythm section, - guitar, - wow and not just for the range of Firebirds that were on stage starting with a lovely Pelham Blue Firebird. They looked great and sounded even better, - praise for the sound and levels, - grew to see a young band realising that it is not about volume but more about tone and balance.

Restored my faith in blues based rock having a bright future, - with a little bit of gospel soul in there along the way! Perhaps Zeppelin did do it first all those years ago but the industry needs new lifeblood.

Re: Rival Sons - UK dates

A quick heads up (get the joke?) for tomorrow, Friday the 12th. Rival Sons will be interviewed by Stuart Maconie on his 6music radio show on the BBC between 1 and 4pm UK time. Here's the link to listen at the time if you are outside the UK. If you live in BBC land you'll be able to listen on the iplayer or catch up.

I'm still feeling pretty bruised emotionally for missing their gig at Shepherds Bush on Tuesday. Mind you, from what David's told me, if I'd been there I may be nursing some physical bruising now as it was jam packed down in the standing area. I think David now has some body piercing where one doesn't normally expect it! yikes
