Topic: Joe in the radio in St. Louis and new fans!

KDHX, St. Louis public radio station just played Ball Peen Hammer - my request, on the "Down in the Alley" program!  They said they have been getting a lot of requests for Joe and will be playing more from the new CD in the future!

Oh yeah!

Also while on my Street Team crusade Saturday, I got two record stores to play several songs off the new CD over their in house system. Vintage Vinyl had about 50 people in the store at the time. Someone inquired about who the artist the store was playing and sent them to see me, of course I filled him in and gave him a card with the web site and up-coming show info!

Joe....the guitar shop down the block from The Pageant, who has put up the Sloe Gin poster and one of my photos of you and your Lucille, would like you to stop by and sign the photo I gave him for his wall. He has a bunch of cool muscians and their autographs. I thought it was fitting that you should be up there as well! smile smile

Havin fun in St. Louis!

Rocket,

What do you mean by what can I do at the camera store???? I get to show customers what different lenses can do on their cameras. And how do I do this you were going to ask??? lol I just happen to have a couple of my fav. Joe photos matted and on display. Of course they always ask who that is in the photo with Lucille, or who the hands belong to (one is a close-up of just his right hand on the strings).  Then I get in trouble for selling Joe and the upcoming concert instead of the lens! lol smile:) smile This has caused my small paychecks to get even smaller! sad:( The customer always says, "Great! I will have to check him out!" and leaves......then I get the look from my manager.....you know "the look", just like mom or your teacher used to give you.........

Re: Joe in the radio in St. Louis and new fans!

Heh Heh! I knew it. I was going to say what DO you do at the camera store, but it wouldn't have come back as detailed.  One of the downsides of being a professional is paychecks can sometimes be smaller than if you weren't hmm So at least your Joetoshop efforts are painting a rosy future for Joe... nothing is more rewarding to you as a photographer I imagine than to take a customer and get that still capture look as you mesmerize them with MoJoe BEattitudes without nary a note sounding to accompany you. "The look" I used to get???? My dad was a teacher so I got his and my mom's "look" a significant portion of my halcyon days of youth.  I think the youth part has faded, but "the look" is still there! cool.....I just put on my cheap sunglasses and can't see them glaring.

Rhonda I'm sure you probably know it, but my little joke about no sugar for Bogie the avatar doesn't mean I don't like him.  It just means he's cut off for awhile or he'll be imitating Keith Moon.

Re: Joe in the radio in St. Louis and new fans!

Rhonda,
Well done! It's a great idea to get the local record stores pumping Joe through their airwaves. Sounds like Sloe Gin sells itself then.

Re: Joe in the radio in St. Louis and new fans!

Nice work Photogal.  Sorry we couldn't make it Sat., but like we said, we'll continue to spread the word any which way we can.  We are still trying to figure out whether or not we are able to make the Ozark Blues Festival.  One of these times, we'll meet you, if not there, at the Pageant in NOV. We're all in row 4 on the dance floor.  Jim has a very hectic schedule lately.  The Central West End area is a great place in that ya feel like your not really in STL when your there.  I just hope they continue to do a good job in keeping crime down so it doesn't get  like the Landing.  And, Big Jim, what the heck were you thinking, ya shoe shinin vagrant.  I can say this about him cause I know he won't read this and we tease each other alot anyway.

Yes you should Shredster! I am less attractive and more demanding. I have an average post time of 3:00 over the years.  There are no thieves stealing ideas in any Street Team Zip Codes.  We share a big sandbox 'round here...

Speaking of unattractive, I am a yankee vagrant not proud enough to shine shoes (a mirror finish on the shoes would ensure no repeat business in my case), but proud to just enjoy vagrancy!  If you're goin' to knock someone down to my offensive level, leave their work ethic outta it!

Yikes Rocket:  For a change I decided I needed to live on here to check "mean people" responses.  It's my husband and we interact as we see fit. Really none of your business though.  Reminds me that I have better things to do. So I'm sure we're outta here !  kat

It was just a dumb joke from a dumb guy. Let's stop before it gets dumber.  A near friend of Rhonda 's by geography & affinities is a near friend of mine, from the heart!

Jeez, some people are so touchy. Rocket is a good guy and I never even met the guy. I just KNOW it. I always enjoy reading his posts. He's also a great fan. How many people do you know that buy extra tickets to a show even if they're not used - and extra copies of CD's just to help Joe out? Chill out.
