Topic: Albert Castiglia and Carl

Last night the great Albert Castibgia played to a pathetically small audience at Kclinger's in Pa. Maybe it was the Holiday, the weather (storms w/tornado warnings), or the poor advertisements, don't know. And it was good for those of us that adore Albert and he had fun so that's a plus. At Carl's request he played a  3 song medley of Hendrix. Then he had our own Carl go up and play a song with him. My first forum friend guitar show! He did himself proud! I noticed a few riffs that were very familiar. Way to go Carl! You rocked!!! So folks, get out there and support good music!!!

Re: Albert Castiglia and Carl

Yeah Carl!!!!  smile  Anyone have a video of this?

LOL-ler-tastic.

Re: Albert Castiglia and Carl

Regrettably....not even a picture :-(   Actually, it's probably a good thing.....due to space constraints I was using a very small amp that sounded horrible (to me) and I didn't do very well because I couldn't hear myself...unlike Joe, I don't have the fretboard memorized...I play sort of half "by ear" so hearing myself is critical.  This is actually my 2nd on-stage appearance with Albert & crew....the first one went much better IMHO but it was a thrill to be asked...Albert is "the real deal", go check him out if you ever get a chance.

Thanks for your support, Cathy...was good to see you even if we didn't get to chat much.  Enjoy Crossroads!

Re: Albert Castiglia and Carl

Yes, but NO HORSE!  Back to Chick's for this show last night. No cowboys, no horse , but, a spectacular show by one of the nicest (and funniest) young players out there. He is a real talent! ( Named 1 of the top 10 to watch by Blues Review). Last song he calls Carl onto the stage to play them out. Carl stepped up! It was great!  Albert is based in Florida but tours the East  3-4 times a year. He has a new CD coming out in January. With his upcoming new management I hope he gets to expand his touring....Class act....Oh, he requested a horse so he could play while on it to one-up Albert Cummings, seems the 2 young AC's have a competitive streak.......Cathy

Hey Carl!  I never read this post before, sounds like fun and cool that Cathy was there.  Do you by any chance live near Gibson Island?

That's where I heard that! I heard him on the radio one day and the deejay said, You just heard Albert Ka-stig-lee-uh and I cringed.
Who knows how Tab Benoit's name is pronounced? Ben-oyt or Ben-wah. I've heard it both ways.

Angela:  Gibson Island is near the Chesapeake Bay, about an hour's drive give or take....nearer to Annapolis & Baltimore, I am slightly closer to the center of MD, just south of Gettysburg, PA.

I've been busier than a one-armed paperhanger or I'd have thrown my 2 cents in earlier....Albert is a hoot...a great guitarist, singer, performer and storyteller, and, like "our" Joe, a supremely nice guy.  Make sure to catch him if he's in your area.

Cathy...it was a blast hangin' out with ya.

Cya soon.
