Re: Favorite Beer

Ahhh Duff would have to be the number one choice however it's hard to get your hands on it over here in sunny Scotland!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually there are a number of fine ales that I love so picking one is just too difficult. I'm liking some of the German wheat beers at the moment.

As for the hard stuff being a true Scotsman it has to be a fine single malt like The Glenrothes.

Re: Favorite Beer

Joe, when you get some R&R time you need to come up north to the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County and spend some time exploring the finest grape growing region in the world. That's all I have to say. Try it out and get back to me when you do. I remember you mentioning touring the central coast wineries in the Solvang area, you only scratched the surface. Head north young man, you won't regret it. Oh yeah, bring the folks when you do.

If you want a mojito done right come to the High Dive on the Embarcadero directly under the Bay Bridge in San Francisco. Maybe I'll drag you and the band down there after the Palace gig.

Re: Favorite Beer

Ahhh yes.....let's talk wine
As I'm sitting here reading these posts and replying to THIS one I'm sipping on a glass of  '04 Bacchi Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel (grapes from the Russian River Valley) from St. Francis Winery in Sonoma County (just up the street from us), simply smooth as silk.

Joe- You need to take J Dawgs advise and spend some time in Sonoma County or the other one over the hill (and far far away) I think it's called Napa County. If ya had a couple of days before or after your San Fran gig in a couple of weeks ya could, but I know from looking at your schedule time won't permit. See ya (you to J Dawg & Shredit) in a few weeks in San Fran. I will be the one, front row middle, having the time of my life with 6 friends who have never seen you before (and will be blown away) and my wife.

Re: Favorite Beer

Ok I realize Ive started a hornets nest of debate here.  I dont pretend to be a expert on wine at all..  My criteria for selecting wine at a store is the design of the label.  When we crank up the tour in a week Im going to make it a point to poll everybody and make a list of our favorite bars and drinks and make a more comprehensive list.
It 'll be a fun off topic we can get into..
thanks

Re: Favorite Beer

I myself like a lot of different sort drinks, but not beer .
Just don't like the taste of it.
Wine is nice (if it's a good wine) and I like the new flavour of baileys to. (chocolat with mint) taste a lot like chocoalate milk, so have to be careful with this one (don't drink to much,to fast) haha.mixed drinks bacardi, rum (not together)and stuff like that also drink away niceley. But no beer for me!!

p.s Joe.
If you like to have a drink when you guys come too Amsterdam let us now !

When I'm not drinking beer, I usually drink scotch. I used to sample a lot of different single malts, which I liked a lot. I settled in on Johnny Walker Black (blend). I've tried the blue, which is very good. For my simplistic tastes, the difference in quality between black and blue is not enough to warrant the difference in price.

That 'll be fun a J.B's band list for good food and drinks who knows it's gonna be a bestseller too!!
I 'm gonna open a bottle of red wine[spanish from the valdepenas area] now and drink to the release of the new CD. Well Joe the mix you told me about Irish.C.B got me legless on friday night!!

Re: Favorite Beer

Now I can do vodka!  Vodka and Ruby Red Squirt! (If you can find it!) lol
Midori and Lemonade - very very dangerous and creates a neat flourescent green color!
Still, Long Island Iced Tea - made right it makes one want to sing songs of which they do not know the lyrics to! lol

For wine, I have St. James Winery right down the road on Interstate 44 (Historic Route 66) and love their Riesling, Pink Catawba and Vignoles!
Joe - they have bus parking! smile

Re: Favorite Beer

Redbull and any hard liquor, just what you need LOL, a bunch of alert drunks!!! If you wanna play tough guy at the bar pound some Irish car bombs. If you don't already know what these are you're better off and I'm not gonna be responsible for gettin' anybody involved with this type of liver torture. A good mojito or just some Patron Silver is good for me, but watch out all that sugar in the mojitos can sting the next day. If anybody digs bourbon Blanton's is about the smoothest I've had over the years. Booker's is just the top shelf of the Jim Beam family of which all their product is endorsed by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Everybody thinks of Jack Daniels and Skynyrd, but that was only when they couldn't find Beam's Choice or better.

This is a public service announcement...Be careful mixing "energy drinks" with alcohol. Especially women. These drinks are heavily caffienated leading to increased rates of metabolism. I know, that the whole point..but...there really are toxic alcohol levels and that's a huge buzz kill!!!  Your friendly forum nurse.....Cathy

The worst shot I've ever seen someone do was Tequilla with the "training wheels".  The guy drank the shot of tequilla, then proceeded to snort the salt and squeeze the lemon juice into his eyes!
