Well the way I look at topics here is on this forum should be used to discuss all things Solo band and the music of BCC..... A great band with a good record coming out in October.  Fortunately there are many places that discuss the Joe/Glenn soap opera that Glenn has created over the past two months... This is just not one of them.. As a responsible shop keep I would be remiss in my duties.

I appreciate the understanding on this manner...  Censoring it is not but I will not let this deteriorate to a Glenn bashing or a bashing of myself,  again there are plenty of places for that in the new Darwinism of the modern day internet ... I have too much respect for the band to let that happen.

Europe has a CD/DVD exclusive?  JB store seems to be 1 disc only.  Amazon US, same thing.  But Amazon.co.uk offering 2 disc version.  Looks like I need to order from UK?

Also has the vinyl available, too.  Just ordered both bonus dvd and vinyl, 9 pounds shipping to US.  Thanks for reminding me about this.  I almost always order the european versions of Joe's releases - always seem to have a few little extras.

Re: Afterglow

Want to hear the title track "Afterglow", "Cry Freedom", and "Midnight Sun" off the upcoming album release due October 30th? Of course you do!

Here you go y'all: http://www.mixcloud.com/arfm/dawn-nicho … ober-2012/

Wow. After listening to these three tracks in full (finally!), I'm convinced "Afterglow" will undoubtedly top BCC's last two installments. Once the accolades for the new album start pouring in, I hope all those involved in the BCC camp will be reminded of how special the music is that they continuously churn out big_smile

Re: Afterglow

Re: Afterglow

coool metal show. have had a listen to the songs. i dunno, i am sure it will all grow on me. strange, even with the song Sista Jane on it, it took me a while to warm up to BCC but after a short time i fell in love and became obsessed with it and it got the majority of play for a year. never tired of it
when 2 came out though, i fell instantly in love with it. maybe because i loved BCC so much by that time.
really looking forward to getting the cd in my hands but very grateful for these clips etc.
some cool unique Joe licks in there for sure from what I have heard so far

Re: Afterglow

Another excerpt :

Not always blessed with excellent material though and the former singer of Deep Purple, Trapeze, Gary Moore, Black Sabbath, Hughes/Thrall, Phenomena, etc. hardly my all-time favorite crooner. However, the "Afterglow" performance must go down as one of the best happenings of the year? Sheer and utter top notch quality from the opening words of "Big Train" to the closing dito of "Crawl". The third Black Country Communion album has been rumored to cause the verbal outburst (to say the least) between Hughes and guitarist Joe Bonamassa and you can almost feel the tension within the compositions. They huff, puff, howl, rip, and shred at each other and thus why they also ended up with the best BCC album so far?

I've been told that Hughes wrote the majority of tunes and it's clearly a different formula than previous attempts at world domination. It's ever so slightly more towards Deep Purple, Hughes/Thrall, and overall, definitely more of Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater). Perhaps not quite as much "metal" but just as much of the blues and Zeppelin vibes as usual and Bonamassa rides hard on wah-wah's and Page-like licks. I find it hard to pick favorite tracks as this is very much the band album effort like in the good old days? Crises what crisis? They've never sounded more alive and on their toes. Highly recommended.

Re: Afterglow

Brilliant stuff from the quad, despite what the aftermath brings.

I especially like 'Cry Freedom', I must go away and learn it immediately!
