Keep an eye out for some Live Beth on 'Later Live...with Jools Holland' this coming Tuesday 9th Oct 10pm, in the UK. There is then an extended version on the Friday night.

Somehow they were able to keep it a secret but Joe B apparently played a guitar solo on the track "There in Your Heart." -- Heard from a friend in EU who has received his pre-order. Can't wait to hear it. wink

The album is fantastic. It really is evident that the Don't Explain CD had an influence on this project and in the writing. Baddest Blues and Caught Out in the Rain are over the top great. The two songs with horns - Swing my Thing and Spirit of God - are really fresh and fun. Joe B did a great solo on There in your Heart. It's very eclectic which i like. It makes each track kind of a surprise and upon first listen you have no idea what type of sound will come up next. Live sound and overall production are great and the arrangements are really well done. 

Only negative for me - I'm very disappointed that Ugliest House was censored/sanitized. She's been doing that for years live and fans know what the lyrics are. It's a big crowd pleaser and all about Beth's sense of humor.  I think sanitizing it was a huge mistake, as in "epic fail." Took the grit and guts out of it and the integrity of the song was not kept intact. Ok, I'll shut up about that now.  wink

Overall, there are several amazing tracks on this album. Beth's vocals are truly outstanding. I just love what she's done here. Besides the one negative, it's close to perfect for me. I like this new direction she's taking. wink

Thanks BOH, for the great review. Love the Bang Bang Boom Boom song/video, listened to it numerous times. I watched it the 1st day you posted here and it had a little over 300 hits, I noticed today it's over 40,000!! That's very exciting cool

I wonder if you might help me out with Beth's website? Looks like it's been revamped since my last visit. I know the release was today for Europe and the US is 2013, I thought I had read you could preorder but perhaps that is just for the European release. I was looking around on the site yesterday it seems to be revamped since my last visit and when I clicked in the store it was all for European orders but perhaps I was looking in the wrong spot? Can't wait to hear it!!!

Got to agree with you there BOH.  Noticed that on one of the webisodes and thought "Nooooooooooooo".  I was down on two knees fist pumping the air in pain.  Well, not really but was worried it might detract from the song a bit.  Will just have to saviour the live version.
