Agreed!
Any year that any Washington baseball team makes the post-season is a memorable one. Any year that achieves any more than that is a very rare event indeed! I think that all of you baseball fans should get four-square behind the Nats ( as long as there's no conflict with your own teams, natch) - why?
The Nats are dominating almost every meaningful stat in baseball.
Everybody knows how good their pitching has been.
They have been the stingiest team in baseball since the start of the season as far as conceding runs goes .
They have most away wins.
They are 59-17 when they score first!
They have Bryce Harper (19! - .254 - 15 HR - 45 RBI), who yesterday again scored from first on a single, and who is just so much fun to watch, whether he's batting, in the field, or running bases. I'm convinced that his mere presence and enthusiasm motivates the rest of them.
Yesterday's win (82-52) clinched the first winning season for a Washington team since 1969!
A Washington team last won the pennant in 1933.
A Washington team last won the World Series in 1924.
Enough good reasons? It's gotta be our year, shirley?
