Thanks Rick, that one slipped through the cracks apparently. Is Arlan the same Arlan Libby knows? Looks like the same guy from some of her FB pics.

Yes, Arlan Schierbaum, Rock Candy Funk Party and one of the LA gang that Joe hangs with when he's in town. Amazing keyboard player.

I googled Arlan's name which took me to his connection with Mark Karan and playing in Jemimah Puddleduck. So I click on Karan's website which in turn reveals Karan playing on ramble nights with Phil Lesh @ Phils new restaraunt Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael. I love the internet! You never know where it'll lead you.

Re: Montreux Acoustic Project

Wow!  This looks like a great set list.  So many interesting interpretations to look forward to.  Besides my obsession with Richmond, I am very intrigued by the possibilities of Mountain Time and Sloe Gin.  Of course both of the are on my "should never leave the set list" list, so I'm am very glad to see Joe agrees.  Super stoked for some show audio, and of course the eventual DVD.

Edit: Thanks to Youtube I see Mountain Time is the original arrangement.  Pretty smart!

Re: Montreux Acoustic Project

Everyone seems to like to see the set lists ahead of time, but for me one of the best parts of the montreux show was that we didn't know and so there was this wonderful anticipation about what might be played. This is what made the grateful dead such a great band to follow around.  I wish that Joe would change up his electric set list more. I love all his songs and he has so many to choose from i would love to hear more variety.

Re: Montreux Acoustic Project

What a setlist, thanks to the OP and Joe for sharing.  It's also nice when others share their experience with those who could not be there.

Thanks.  That DVD isn't going to come out soon enough.  But will absolutely be worth the wait.

Play like you've worked at it, and don't worry about sounding like your influences.  You can't cheat on them, or your practice, anyway.  If you've worked hard at your skill, your audience will know it.

Re: Montreux Acoustic Project

Here is an excerpt from Hadrian's Wall at Montreux. I apologize for it being filmed vertically. My 14 yr old son did the filming and we don't know how to make it horizontal. I know it's a bit ridiculous to have to upend your laptop, but it isn't often that you see this song. Hope it's not too much of a pain.

Here is another exceprt. This one features a nice solo during "Jockey Full of Bourbon" and it is the right way up.
