Topic: 7 year old guitar player shares the stage with Walter Trout!
We went to see Walter yesterday in Rockford, IL at a small venue. There was maybe 75 people, it was like having Walter for a private party. Well anyway our son Tallan is a huge Walter (and of coarse Joe) fan.
Too make a long story short, we knew we were going to see him either at Shank Hall or in Rockford so I sent Walter a link to Tallan's website so he could check it out. When we got to Big Cities Lounge Tallan went to meet Walter before the show and Walter invited him to play in the second set. The kid was going crazy bouncing off the wall that he's going to be playing with one of his idols.
When it was time to play, Tallan was waiting for his amp to warm up he was playing some licks and as the sound started getting louder and louder everyone in the place was going crazy. The look on Walter's and Joey's (the drummer) face was priceless. Joey's bottom jaw was dropped open so far it was almost laying on his snare. He kept looking at Walter saying this is amazing.
They jammed for 10-15 minutes. Walter let Tallan play lead for awhile, then Tallan played backup while Walter played lead, then they were trading licks back and forth. It was Awesome. I was so proud of him, my 7 year old son trading licks with Walter Trout, unbelievable!
I have to agree with everything that was said in another topic about Walter, he's GREAT. He took time before and after the show to spend time with Tallan, he impacted Tallan's life in a very positive way. It's something he'll remember forever.
