Topic: Durham (& Cleethorpes) Blues Festival 2012
With there being no Glastonbury this year, the rain seems determined to turn every other outdoor festival into a quagmire or wash it out altogether.
Meanwhile, unless the River Wear comes up about 30ft at Durham, their Blues Festival at the Dunelm Student’s Union is still on; Saturday 23rd (24th down the coast at Cleethorpes). For £25 you get Robin Trower, Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash, King King, Oli Brown, Connie Lush, Henrik Frieschlader, Mitch Laddie and on the Acoustic stage:- Jo Harman, Del Bromham, Clare Free, The Dukes, Memphis Suns & Poplar Jake.
And the other advantage, being in the Durham Uni Student Union building, I don't imaging the "adult beverages" being silly money; nearer £2 a pint than £8.
Already arranging a couple of meet-ups, but if anyone else is heading along and fancies setting up a "Joe's corner", get the PM's flying.
Running times are on the event's site, doors open at 2:30pm running through till 11:30pm, first bands on at 3pm.

Train and bus station isn't too bad a walk, but by car, the postcode for your sat-nav is DH1 3AN. Just watch the parking though, Durham isn't greatly blessed though it is ringed with Park-and-Rides that will close well before the fest finishes. Same with the multi-stories in the city, but be warned, they're not cheap either.
Moderators - if you want to combine this with PSmith's post into a single thread about Festivals, that's fine.
