Hi Alvin, I saw you at The Blue Lamp, Aberdeen, Scotland a couple of years ago. I've heard that you might be coming back this year, is this correct? I certainly hope it is, I would love to see you again.
I also saw you guesting with Gov't Mule in New York on 30th December 2005, that was a great show.
Good luck with your recruitment drive here.
To all other forum members, I would definately go to see this band if you can, you won't be disappointed.

Murray - I think the 30 August was a provisional date but Chris' last email had nothing listed.

@ Murray , I haven't received total confirmation of the UK (solo)  dates yet , but Kenny is correct , looks like 30 Aug was suggested
And ,thanks for your support !

Re: Save AYH ....Joe fans u can help

Big AYH fan here. He has put out some great cds, "Big Mama's Door" is absolutely brilliant, some of the best traditional sounding blues you will ever hear, this one is essential to any lover of blues music. All acoustic here, he plays guitar, 12 string guitar, lap steel & banjo on this gem. And if that isn't enough to grab your interest  the legendary Taj Mahal appears on 3 of the songs , playing mandolin and background vocals on one, singing on another one & plays guitar on a third. But to be clear this album is mostly Alvin , completely solo on 11 of the 14 songs.

His album "Territory" is one of my desert island discs, a fantastic album. A combination of acoustic and electric stuff here. As I said this album is one of my all time favorites, by anybody, a must hear cd.

There are also some all electric albums, "Start With Soul" & "Motivational Speaker" that are both excellent as well as another  acoustic disc "Down In The Alley" that I like a whole lot.

Alvin Youngblood Hart is an artist that if it were based on talent would be a star, he is that good.

Sadly , Motivational Speaker is outa print,as far as I know
Im trying to remedy that as we speak
Gotta fight the powers that be ............

The good news is , I sold one of my guitars from the stage  at the Vienna  VA show ...Made an $800 profit
It's all for sale ......

Re: Save AYH ....Joe fans u can help

I am sorry that i did not see this post earlier because i would have gone to the Jammin Java show on June 7. I did see Jane's post on fb but the show in Glenville, PA was to far for me to drive.
