Re: the hoax

Well I got my copy of Live Forever yesterday from Grooveyard Records. VERY IMPRESSED! I love Jesse's guitar playing but the thing which I think separates them from other bands is their strength of songs and Hugh Coltman's FANTASTIC voice!

Re: the hoax

Jess,

How right you are. All the Hoax songs sound so excellent live. Hugh's vocals are
amazing. His harmonica playing is outstanding. What I love is the band is so polished and tight. No one steps on anyone else's solos and everyone gets a chance to shine.  You should check out Jon Amor's site. He has downloads of his new music . His not Hugh when it comes to vocals but then I have'nt heard many that can compete with Hugh vacally. I really enjoy Jon's solo work.
If you can find them,  all 3 studio CDs are worth having. Humdinger is my favorite, but Unpossible and Sounds Like This are great as well.

Re: the hoax

Does Unpossible sound somewhat like Sound Like This with more of that 90's blues vibe? Or is it closer to Humdinger?

Re: the hoax

Antigua,

That's a great question. I wouild say Unpossible is closer to Humdinger than Sounds Like This. Jesse & Jon were starting to develop the BIG sound that's all over Humdinger. The guitars have more effects then on Sounds Like This. The band's songwriting skills continue to improve on this CD. Like all their songs the arrangements are brillant and cover a wide range of musical styles.
You can tell that Huminger would follow this CD as the band matured and progressed.

Re: the hoax

I see what you're saying now after listening to it. Humdinger sounds completly different from the first two in terms of songwriting. More blues oriented. What about that Night Will Come EP? I guess that's nearly impossible to find.

Re: the hoax

Thanks to my forum buddies who have hooked me up! Humdinger is so well recorded. I can finally hear the words! I did miss the harmonica ...and then the hidden track! Unpossible was for my taste, too "pop"...but Fistful of Dirt into Fistful of Dolllars, Live.....but I'm confused. I had a "Live" from the forum. I ordered a "Live" from Amazon, but it doesn't have Superstition or Don't Shake My Hand..was that a hybrid? (I gave mine to Albert Cummings)...Thanks, Cathy

Re: the hoax

Is it still possible for someone to send me Humdinger? I didn't get an email from anyone... sad

Hey Cathy,
Don't shake my hand and Superstition aren't on Live Forever. You must have had one of the many bootlegs.  And you gave your copy to Albert Cummings?  I can probably round you up a new one with those tunes. Maybe you can send a Humdinger over to Jess?

Take care everyone. And if I don't meet you no more in this world
Then ill, I'll meet you in the next one and don't be late, don't be late
